Very sad and frightening for those guys to witness it on the field. Watched most of the coverage right after the initial phases.
Nothing looked out of the way with the hit. I have been a medic for over 37 years and a cardiac event sometimes can offer no explanation and there is so many possibilities. The hit did not look to cause any type of neuro/spinal problem. Could be genetic, clot that moved to an occlusion and the hit manifested it, who knows. Either way a lethal rhythm and thank God they had personnel and equipment there. With CPR and the advanced care they gave him when not breathing hopefully they gave him the airway tube on the field. Couldn't see. But with the time they spent there without transporting may explain that...shocking, airway, IV's, meds. But the tube and induced unconsciousness is good for him, helps him rest, and body to remain calm.
Hope only the best and prayers for this young man and both teams.
