ROCK BOTTOM!
That’s where we are. In the span of roughly 15 years of terrible hires and mismanagement, 3 National Championships, numerous SEC titles and bowl wins, All-Americans by the truckload, a passionate fan base that showed up without parallel…all that feels like only an illusion. Gainesville burns while Stricklin fiddles. To be fair, the AD(s) aren’t the only problem. There’s the matter of weakness in the Presidency and, arguably other administrative leadership in terms of a bonafide commitment to a dominant football program. In short, UF does not seem interested in competing for National Championships anytime soon…And that is unforgivable.

Previously, UF had won 31 straight games against UK from 1987 to 2015. Thirty-one straight. Since then we’ve been 3-5. The tide has turned from dominating a game but average SEC opponent to losing more than we’re winning. This might win you a bump in the local paper in Starkville; not so much in Alachua County.

Not much to decipher, really. Four turnovers and Seven points are not winning numbers.

* The Curious Case of DJ Lagway - Bust? Maybe, but I’m more inclined to believe his spirit’s broken as much as anything. Just speculation but I can’t help but feel his handling with kid gloves by Napier has led to where he’s at. It’s clear he hasn’t been coached/corrected in terms of his mechanics. Footwork is pretty much non-existent, with the exception of the frequent jump passes and his arm angle varies anywhere from by his ear to almost underhanded. Honestly, he looks more like the QB in a pickup game on Sunday afternoon at the rec field. His decline is criminal given his post-high school trajectory. But we shouldn’t be surprised given the quality of the coaching that the Gators have been subjected to. Billy Gonzalez deserves a pat on the back for agreeing to steer this barge the rest of the way, though sadly, not much more than that.

Meanwhile, UK is dancing in the streets…or up the hollow…after their dismantling of the Gators…

…and you can just bet the Vols will be stocking up on the KY in anticipation of our meeting with them in a couple of weeks. Maybe, just maybe we can show up against Ole Miss and the ‘heir apparent,’ put up a good fight and show him there’s still life and a few championships to be had in Gainesville. Maybe…

Go Gators!

More effort in your write up and Ox’s podcast with Jay than I saw last night from most of the players! Thank you for showing up! The failure of Lagway is all on Billy no matter how you look at it. Clear he hasn’t been able to throw an accurate long ball since last year and likely needed season ending surgery in the spring to have any shot at fixing it. Keeping him out of practices and contact to try and protect his job this year was a very Billy-like decision. Think holding on to TO’s instead of using them when you need them or throwing sideways on 3rd and long type strategery, nothing he ever did made any sense. How he convinced DJ and his parents to go through with the charade is beyond me. I wish DJ well but hope Billy never steals from a fan base again, unless it’s UGA or FSU! :lol2:

Thanks for an excellent recap. The team looked completely different from the one in Jax last week. I have seen worse but not much worse.......no coulda shoulda wouldas here. If staying close to a top 5 team is a moral victory is losing badly to a poor team an immoral loss? Gonna go make a sandwich for lunch.........

Rock bottom says it all.
I truly believe the loss last week deflated the team to the point of no return. At this point I have no hope next week and little hope in two weeks against Tn.
My only hope is in three weeks they can mustard up enough gumption agains the semis to end this nightmare on a positive note

Agreed... if we're all smoke and mirrors, we'll definitely need an escape goat to get out of Tallacrappee, and Billy G will need to come up with a red herron to blame for the presser! Either way, it's a mute point.

Maybe just maybe Billy G can convince these quitters just how important crushing the dying Indians is. If we lose everything else I dont care. Just beat them scum of the earth pieces of svit.

After we were scrambling to score before half, got a first down then out of shotgun, spiked the ball for some unknown reason I decided to call it a night, maybe a season at this point. What I saw last night was like watching a high school game

I wondered about the thought process of that call. Correct me if I am wrong but the play prior ended up in the field of play, however wasn't there a defensive holding penalty on that play, thus adding yardage to the end of the play? And since it was a defensive penalty that was accepted, would not the game clock had started on the snap, and not on the ready for play whistle? If so that was a completely wasted down and would have been wasted even if the clock had started on the ready for play whistle since the team was already set.

Well........... thanks Cover, as Kermit said, "it's hard to be Green".

Had to look up the name. The baby in the well. Many prayers answered and a very good illustration of field engineering.

By my estimation, just a bunch of uneducated white boys talking.
Welp. Uneducated probably doesn't apply. Most of us have prestigious degrees from an elite university. Unless we have an albino on the board, white is definitely out. I, personally, am just a lighter shade of brown.

I might still have a regrettable haircut but my bangs have grown out. Ask @Detroitgator we had lunch last month. They no longer look like a 5 year old with safety scissors cut them, I hope.

there’s a lot going on in this photo and I'm not sure what to discuss first.
How about the keynote speaker there going into the salon and saying, “give me the ‘Andrea Bocelli’ everyone’s been raving about”.

I'd say that was about the "sweet spot" in history for a low point in the number of slaves globally. I blame the formation of The Fed for its rise again!
That’s insinuated in so many words in Lords of Finance.
