It's completely the opposite of the "scared money" mantra and we were lucky it didn't cost us the game. I despise cowardly play-not-to-lose coaching.
It's really weird because he's like crazy aggressive on 4th down, after being stupid conservative the three plays before.

He's just so wedded to inside zone, outside zone, split zone. It is truly his religion.

Great as always C2. The kids have embraced this team and being a Gator, especially the Frosh! So exciting to watch. As for Billy, he needs to hire an OC, STC and carry this book with him like the Bible. His clock management remains well below the level of even a high school coach and there is no excuse. The disfunctional play calling at the end of the first half when we blew a chance to add to our lead and almost gave it back to them with enough time for them to score was idiotic. Hiking the ball with 15 seconds left on the play clock, while leading on the 4th quarter and 5 minutes to go, and giving them an extra minute or more to try and come back (they got it back twice in last minute to have a chance) is inexcusable. Good win Billy and Team but you need to act like a head coach now. Do the work and Make Gators Great Again! View attachment 76788
Perfect for Clock Management Karl.

Don't sleep on Myles Graham.

I remember Shane Matthews and the scout talking about him. The comment was not only is the best running back / linebacker that I've ever seen, I think he's the best high school PLAYER that Ive ever seen.

The most angry I got during the game was when we had a 3rd and 4 to end the game and instead of letting Lagway throw a quick 5-yarder, we handed off up the middle and gave a powerful offense the ball back. It's completely the opposite of the "scared money" mantra and we were lucky it didn't cost us the game. I despise cowardly play-not-to-lose coaching. Despise it. Trust your effing quarterback and END the game.
I vote for calling time out to get the ball at end of first half then just killing the clock. Our kicker is hitting 55 yard bombs, at least try for the FG.

Hell, we didn’t even go for the punt block.

The kid definitely has a nose for the ball and was making plays all over the field. Wasn't afraid to get into the mix when they ran that fat ass lineman on their 1st 4th down try.

No one goes for punt blocks anymore, at any level of football. Evidently the analytics say it isn't worth the risk.
Urban knows better. Nothing changes the game more.

Maybe it's not worth the risk if you're not good at it.

Same here. The replay was at the 2-min remaining mark and I missed the game so was seeing it for the first time, One more 1st down and we win the game hands-down. Retard calls his favorite play on 3rd & 4, a hand-off to tiptoe up to the line and take a 1-yard loss. If not for some great defensive play that could have cost us the game. Why not run the same play that won the LSU game - stack an edge with blockers and let the RB haul ass. We have to have a great OC hire and to hell with what Billy wants on this, he's a failure as an OC so let's get him one and let him be the CEO, which he seems to be able to handle. The D seems to be in good hands - this team could be very good to great if the O has the right decision-making.

DJ lifts the whole team. If you have genuine faith that your qb can get it done, you play with fire and belief on both sides of the ball. He was a wizard on our first TD drive. Kiffin tipped the hat at halftime.

Credit due to Johnson and Bridges for stepping up at CB and playing every down on defense for the past two games. We’re super thin in the defensive backfield and these guys have just about kept things from imploding.

Baugh will likely prove the superior back over time but Montrell put his stamp on his final home game with a great effort.

Gates’ knee injury looked terrible. I hope he can get back by summer if not before.

Something no one has mentioned is that we've also won these last two games without Wilson, who is our most dynamic offensive player.

Also, a Manning is coming back into the Swamp next year. Imagine that.
