On a serious note, and I noticed it last week after the LSU win (from Chip Kelly and commentators) but especially last night after the Ole Miss win, but this is the comment that really pissed me off with the "analysis" of both games...

From coaches: "We didn't convert/execute in the red zone... blah blah blah"
From talking heads: "They didn't convert/execute in the red zone... blah blah blah"

Last night, but kind of indirectly, they started giving our defense a BIT of credit for this, but not really.

The bottom line is, and I'm just spit ballin' here, but for about the last 4-5 games, our defense has been pretty fukkin' outstanding in the red zone defense arena.
Whoever we had before Stoops ran the bend don’t break I think.

I’m just amazed at how the pass rush gets strong in the 4th. Not sure what the rotations are, haven’t been paying attention. But these past two games have been clutch on the pass rush.

Something no one has mentioned is that we've also won these last two games without Wilson, who is our most dynamic offensive player.

I did notice that Wilson was in the middle of the players singing the Alma Mater after the game.
He didn’t act like a guy with one foot out of the door.

@TXgator,
Wishing for BN to hire an OC, is futile. It will not happen. BN's offense, which so many on here hate, is what BN understands football to be. One might as well ask Billy to coach a different sport as ask him to hire an OC to change his offense.
I thought that a lot of you understood this. In my pre-season poll, many of you said you didn't want Napier back even if he won every game.
There is a slim chance that someone could be hired to improve his route trees; but only then if they still allowed WRs to block and support the run game, which is what Billy thinks offensive football should be.
I  adore a running attack. Cramming the ball down the throat of an opponent (particularly when they stack the box) is my idea of fun. But most UF fans want a modern passing game. I get that. I just dislike being treated as ignorant because my idea of football ended with Vince Lombardi.

Pruitt.

And yeah I agree. And it’s pressure from the inside as well, not just a good edge guy like Grenard. One of my best friends is a bulldog and his first text to me last night was we are the one team he wouldn’t want to be playing right now and he pointed to that. When you see pockets collapse like that again and again, and more so in the 4th, that’s not a defense you want to be playing. If they all come back minus Jackson, this will be one of the best DL in the SEC next season.

I think Banks is gone. If he receives a decent grade, the combine could potentially get him into the first two rds. Seems like his measureables are NFL ready.

Russ Grimm told a great story once about how late in a game against the Cowboys, Joe Gibbs called the same running play 8 times in a row. After the 3rd or 4th time, Grimm told the Cowboy opposite him that it was going to be the same play again and continued to tell him as it was called again and again, and the Cowboys couldn’t stop it. That’s domination on the line and always enjoyable to watch.

Think so too. But I’d love to see him come back. Maybe a case where NIL helps us.

I think if he plays next year like the past few games, he could be looking at an early first round pick. 7 figures and some insurance might do it

The most angry I got during the game was when we had a 3rd and 4 to end the game and instead of letting Lagway throw a quick 5-yarder, we handed off up the middle and gave a powerful offense the ball back. It's completely the opposite of the "scared money" mantra and we were lucky it didn't cost us the game. I despise cowardly play-not-to-lose coaching. Despise it. Trust your effing quarterback and END the game.
Mine was ending the half with a time out, at midfield.

Use the timeout and let DJ throw it into the end zone. If nothing else, it's good practice, if we are ever in that situation at the end of the game.

It would be great but he’s the hot commodity right now.

Lyons will be back from injury and Boireau will be in second year s and c.

Get three inside guys into the class and one or two portal vets that like the way things went for our front seven transfers this year and let Chatman do his thing…..

Well we did it too except we punted three times.

It loses the coolness.

We've had a lot of bend but "don't break" (usually means does break regularly) nutsacks.

Zook, Pruitt, Hoke, Zook again, sometimes Strong, Sidehat, Randy Shannon, and the Sunbelters.

There's a lot of nuance to bend but not break. For many teams they choose to play strong up front and then just "keep it in front of you" in the secondary.

People are thinking he may even be a first round pick because of his production on the back half of the year.

Wild, you’d think they’d be gun shy on a kid based on only a few games.

His first step is something that can’t be taught. That’s what they’ll fall in love with. Maybe we can subtlety degrade him in interviews like Costanza did with his prison girlfriend. Might be enough for them to cool on him.

No doubt, but there’s got to be other DT with a similar first step along with more production to back it up…to be a 1st rounder
