Trask had his difficulties. Worse yet so did the receivers. plus missed assignments. Have to wait until I look at the play by play but it seams Mullen adjusted the play calling accordingly.
We are still a one-dimensional offense and that’s gonna hurt us at some point. Gotta at least try to figure out the run game.
Chump’s not an idiot, well he is an idiot, but even an idiot knows that if an offense does only one thing well you should probably defend against it.

          Thanks, cover!

The flea flicker was incredibly annoying. Can anyone recall a single time during chump's tenure at UF when we attempted a flea flicker? So NOW he's willing to show creativity on offense? Against UF? Screw that guy!

Btw, I wanted to bash Eddie Haskell for his commentary, but have to admit there were a few occasions where he made some positive comments about UF. Must've been killing him to do that. He certainly took every opportunity to be negative. Haters gonna hate! Gators are great!

          Go Gators!!!

Their secondary got away with plenty of holds and PI, I got no sympathy if they got jobbed a time or two. Watching Muschump positively lose his scheisse on the ref’s and get flagged was worth the price of admission. I don’t think it’s enough to call him a maniac anymore. The guy is an outright fiend.

Each progressing game, Cover, Trask gives you more to uncover that you cover so well. Thanks many times over.
Some announcer mentioned that Trask may have never played a game in a downpour before.? Look how well he came around after that horrid start. Using my guess-evidence, I'd say Trask's determination comes from his fierce loyalty to UF, to his mates. He refuses to let us down.

Yep, DB coverage needs to get braver at fronting opposing WR - getting isolated behind a bigger WR doesn't work well.
Team deficits send us toward losing these games, while specific skilled athletes just refuse to lose - so we're 7-1. That's real good.
21-33, 200 yds,4 TDs, done mostly in 3 quarters shows we have a Gator QB. Keeps KT gaining confidence and honing skills by correcting shortfalls = that brain-processing you mentioned, Cover.

Pierce is the RB most likely to get us a sure 5 yards frequently, plus breaking a long one too. IMO, Cleveland was brilliant in having a half-step on that guy, but reaching "backward" and tugging his jersey = the guy leading pulling the guy from behind. Who'da thunk it? Not the refs. Let us always prevent the Prevent. Grow Gators. Rest and heal every wound.

Reese, Miller, Moon will buck up when G & Z rejoin them. It's looking like UGa will wilt facing our never give up Gators.

                    1. The o-line has improved since Gouraige took Bleiche’s spot. Heggie isn’t getting blasted back into the QB from the RG spot and Gouraige more than handles his own. Hopefully, he continues to improve.

                    2. He will never be a great blocker, but Pitts blocking has improved tremendously since the Miami game where he was flat out embarrassing.

                    3. Am I crazy, or should the staff move Moon to LB where his elite speed and athleticism wouldn’t go to waste? I just don’t think he is physical enough to play the position he is at. He needs to be in space.

                    4. Glad to see Copeland have a good game. The kids works his butt off. He’s been vocal on Twitter about not producing more.

Great as usual, the false start miss was a big break in our favor. The holding on the same play did not really exist but no grabbing of jerseys should be the policy. I heard that Trask showed great leadership (sort of like Tebow) with the team. Said that this is not us and then went out and proved it. After seeing Vandy and Mizzu we can beat both of them so beating Ga means a great chance at the SEC championship game. Perhaps our luck was payback for Chump being so poor of a coach when he was here, he seems to have learned a little.

So let us discuss this a little bit. Looking at the replay, it looks like Hammond's left foot was less than a yard away from the neutral zone when he starts blocking. Going over the rule book, it appears it is legal for Hammond to block within 1 yard of the neutral zone and keep blocking for upto 3 yards. Seems like according to the rules, it was a legal block and a legal TD. I am too lazy to come with the still image.

NCAA Rule 7 – Snapping and Passing the Ball – Page 3 – Ruletool

                          1. It is not offensive pass interference (A.R. 7-3-8:IV, V, X, XV and XVI):
                            1. When, after the snap, a Team A ineligible player immediately charges and contacts an opponent at a point not more than one yard beyond the neutral zone and maintains the contact for no more than three yards beyond the neutral zone.

we don't play an outside linebacker.

moon is the starting strong-side linebacker but we only play one when there is no star /nickel on the field which has been basically never.

the "weak" linebacker/WILL in this systems actually an inside linebacker. Middle LB/Mike and WILL are close to being interchangeable.

The reason it was pass interference was that Hammond was widest player on that side on that play. so whether he was on the LOS or not, he would be considered an ELIGIBLE receiver either way. Therefore it is pass interference. The rule is really meant for the offensive linemen but you are correct it would also be relevant if an eligible receiver was covered up. I do not think Hammond was covered up on that play.

Okay I just watched the replay. Hammond was not the widest player, but he was off the line of scrimmage on that play so he was a slot guy. He was clearly an eligible receiver. Tho not called, it was pass interference.

Burney also had a nice pass defense, actually turned and played on the ball.

schematically they frustrate me because I don’t like sideways and running scheme based on our players....just me.

Grantham’s D gives me heartburn, hopefully with G/Z back we get a pass rush, but we only seem to get a rush on less mobile OL. But they also heavily impact run game by blowing up the outside. I also like moon better in space, but a 3-4, never;) DB’s got burned several times to be bailed out by a bad pass. Some hustle on td saving tackles.

Never a dull moment but they pulled out great win. I think a game ball needs to go to coach boom for driving the field running down our throats and then passing in the red zone.

Go Gators, get healthy and hungry. Time to wok the dawg

Agree on the comments from Austin. Also a camera shot from the side showed that the Cock defender was tugging on Cleveland's face mask as they neared the end zone, That plus their arms interlocked would explain why there was no disengagement.

Cover again delivered an excellent and on point game summary. It was as expected an ugly game in bad weather . We knew what Muschamp and the Cocks would bring, and in more ways than one the Gators weathered the storm and prevailed. Losing Rico Dowdle after the first play was a huge setback for the Cocks. No doubt he was going to be the center piece of the ground and pound game plan. No question that we got a couple of breaks on calls. The difference is that those mistakes are usually in favor of the home team. See last week in Baton Rouge. But bottom line coaches and players stayed focused, made the proper adjustments and plays, and survived a game that we could have easily lost. No style points needed , just win.

That's a good point. When I noticed Burney he was doing good things.

As much as I havent been impressed w him trying to transition from safety to inside LB (flop so far IMO), I prefer him at Star bc he gives us a much bigger presence in the box on run plays.

Burney had a pretty good game and showed he is good enough in pass coverage against most teams, but not Mizzu I suspect (if good Mizzu shows up).

Seriously, for the life of me I can't figure out what "Held us to 38" is in reference to.

GA and Missou will be more accurate on the deep throws. Both squads could be capable of doing the same things LSU was able to do vs this Defense. SC had guys running free all day and Helinski just overthrew them time and again.
