Yes. Three levels of lying. Lies, Damn lies, and Statistics. In that order. One of my favorite quotes.......Was it Mark Twain......
After watching this, I think Franks actually did better than I might have initially thought. This is encouraging...
This jack comes to mind. While I don't think Franks is the answer, I'm willing to relax and see how he responds in the coming games on the field. What I think should happen NOW is that Mullen tells him to knock off the sideline antics. Part of me thinks they fire up the opposition more than our players. When Kentucky watches film of the Miami game, what are they going to see? Our very own Franks dancing, crotch-grabbing, talking trash, and strutting around like a peacock, despite subpar play. As a defender watching that, wouldn't it motivate you to want to knock his block off? It sure would for me.
Franks:
Can throw a laser
Can throw deep
Still is slow to release the ball.
Mia:
A RFR QB who is green as owl crap was picking us apart at times…This with 9 Sacks.

All this hate for the QB of our team whose last five games are all wins averaging about 41 pts a
game going back to last year. Last year we won all four road games (not the game in Jax)
with this same QB. I know the bar for UF QBs is so high you have to be in heaven to see it.
But the fact remains he never had much coaching till last year. He has a lot of passion but
my target audience doesnt approve of how he demonstrates it. Hell, as long as we dont get a
penalty I could GAS. I figure he is celebrating cause we scored. Seems to me if you are a
gator fan you pull for them. Support them. Celebrate when they win. Last time I looked we are on
a winning streak. So why such a whining streak. Put me in the column of those that like Felipe and
hope he continues to get better. QB of UF is only less under the microscope than the HBC.
I already know the answers of some of you.........I could actually write your replies.........How about
some new posters that just lurk. What do yall think about our QB? I would love to have another Mr Perfect like Timmy or Danny or even a Rex but I never got exactly what I wanted on Christmas day and figured most other boys didnt either.
Coach, it’s all about a subjective “eye test” and only watching a game once half-drunk with the emotions of the game. How dare people watch multiple times and see things are not as good/bad as they seem without the emotions of the desire to win. Live, people around me were moaning about Franks’ pitch on Davis’ fumble. Re-watching it was a quality pitch. Took me several re-watching a of the picks to see what was going on to see Delance kick Franks’ plant leg back on the second INT (which still shouldn’t have been throw). Hitting legs makes a body fall forward, lowers throw trajectory, that’s science. Same science as hitting high throws the body back and heightens throw trajectory.
Was he perfect, no? Did he do plenty of good things? Yes. Several great throws and a few times he kept plays alive with his feet and/or made some big runs. Did playcalling help? Nope. Is anything in this paragraph even talked about post-game? Not by many who would rather ***** and put the game solely on Franks than say anything positive. We beat Miami, we did so with little to no run game.
If you feel like reacting to me, great, bring examples and let’s have a discussion. If we can’t talk actual plays, play calls, progressions, pressure, and just want to look at one aspect of a bigger picture then we’ve reached UCF fan level. We’re Gators, we are smarter than that.
Outside of a 3rd down prevent zone defense I am really curious to where he “picked us apart”. Please provide multiple plays that aren’t screens. I know asking people to back up assertions is taboo, but I’m curious. If he “picked us apart” you should easily come up with a list of 10.

I could be way off but I think y'all are saying the same thing...
That upon further review, FF did better than first thought and that there were extenuating circumstances that enabled FF's (percieved) bad showing.
:headscratch:

217 yrds against with one of the worst OL we will face? 19/30 (63%) for ~ 7rds/play. Before Saturday he had almost NO playing time.
Dude, if your going to avoid the question I asked don't answer. I'm asking for a list of plays that demonstrate this. not a stat line. I'm not saying he didn't make some downfield throws, but picking us apart is Drew Locke last year. I ask for non-screens for the amount of yards he got on those in the first drive and a rb screen on the last drive of the second half (see these are what we call examples, this is what I asked for, except not the stupid one time only 3rd and Grantham where you drop 8 into a zone that I didn't know Grantham had in his book or use it, fine).
For frame of reference, Franks must have picked apart Miami with 254 yards, 2 TD's and having 4 new starters on his line. And amount of playing time is a completely different thing than picking apart a team.
Interesting and a little surprising.
@GatorsReddit: Feleipe Franks threw for 254 yards, more than any other QB against Miami all last season. His 63% completion rate was better than any team that threw 5 or more passes. His 2 passing touchdowns would have tied for first. All behind an OL breaking in 4 new starters.
Not sure what you are saying here. Are you saying he’s checking down when it’s open down the field? Personally I have not seen that. He seems more likely to be overconfident in his arm and force passes where he should not. On the second pick I wish he had checked down to Grimes who was open in the flat. Would have been a positive play, and with Grimes running abilities, maybe a real positive play, or at worst an incompletion out of bounds. I have no problem with a kill shot if it’s there; my concern with FF is knowing the difference between when it’s there and when it’s not. And when it’s not, sometimes you have to know to take the sack. His check down to the RB has gotten old. Really needs to throw the ball down the field.
