This Porsche 1976 935 was going about 120mph thru a dogleg turn and spun around twice, but never went off track. Driver gathered it up right in front of me and took off. It was spectacular to be so close and make the call to race control. I was in the garage the next day and he said it didn't even flat spot his tires. What a great 5 days it was with hundreds of classic cars and a few new ones mixing it up.

Which is why I'll drive my 6.2L Raptor as long as it will roll... the day they started actually clandestinely feeding "engine growl" over the stereo speakers was a sad, sad, day. I don't care if a 3.5L TT Ecoboost has more hp/torque than my 6.2... I just.... don't... care!
I'll beat you on the street, maybe...but you'll destroy me anywhere pavement doesn't exist

I've used trails no sane person in a raptor, well any newer vehicle, would go down. One just S of Salt Springs headed to Hopkins Prairie. Goes from about 15 feet wide to about 3 with heavy branches. Big time Florida pinstriping.
Jeep drivers were pissed off.
I was 3rd in line and getting nervous.

I'd love to see your pics but for me they're not usable URLs and say they've expired. I've tried both desktop and mobile version of GC with the same result.

I spent two days last week with new IMSA cars. The Cadillac LMDh GTP sounds amazing.

Had a few days with International GT Series races and some track days racing over the weekend. These things are crazy fast.

I did some hot laps at Daytona in a new RS3 a few years ago. He started tire psi at 32. After 20 minutes on the road course, psi was 40 and we went straight thru the horseshoe turn into the grass. Lucky there was plenty of runoff and no damage done. Sweet car, did over 150mph into the trioval in traffic.

I saw a McLaren speedtail pulling out of the Seminole Golf Course in North Palm/Jupiter the other day.

Only 106 were built in the entire world and sell for about $2.5 Million in Secondary market. . Nearly pulled a u-turn on US1 to see who was driving it.

I had a great seat for the SCCA Majors last weekend. Been camping & kayaking this week in the Keys. Heading up to Sebring this weekend for another SCCA race.

Decided to take the GT500 out for a rip yesterday since I haven't been driving her much lately. Forgot all about how bad hi performance sticky tires behave when the temp drops below 60 degrees. 1st and 2nd and well into 3rd are a spinfest in these conditions when trying to do any hard pulls. Oh well the parking lot at work is always fun for a few decent burnouts....

Still can't believe I've had this car for going on 7 years. Sadly she's just to turn about 30K on the odometer which bums me out a little. I decided to get her a birthday present for the big 3-O. Got her the Shelby Qball style shifter to replace the stock one which I loved but was falling apart. I had also forgotten the car had an aftermarket short throw shifter installed by the original owner and of course neither of the 2 shift boot retainers fit the threads on the shifter. Luckily one of the adapters for the shift knob threads fit and I was able to make it work by using a jam nut instead. Not quite as nice looking as with the boot retainer in place but I can live with it and it adds a little touch to the inferior of the car.

Now I just need to finish up the Cadillac project I started a month ago...

What's the Caddy project? CTS-V?

No but I'd just about give my left nut to have one. My neighbor has one that he put a nice lopey cam and electric cut outs in the exhaust...the thing sounds awesome when he goes idling by with the cam chopping away. What could be cooler than a Caddy sedan with a vette engine, 6 speed trans, and a race car exhaust note...:headbang:

Mine is a 2007 STS that my MIL uses to go to the grocery store once a week. It has the dreaded no crank/no start issue which is pretty common with Caddies from that era. I think I've got it solved by going through all of the fuse boxes. The 2 boxes under the rear seat were actually wet. Somehow the car has been leaking and running up underneath the seat and down all over the floor of the car in the rear. The boxes and fuses were covered in condensation. Removed all of the fuses, dried everything out the best I could, then took a hairdryer to the fuse boxes, removed the one from the Onstar system/radio which causes a parasitic draw(another chronic issue with these cars)....and bang, she starts everytime.

Excellent. Those mid-90s-2000s Northstar cars are sneaky fast. I remember running an 01-02 Z06 at a roll in a 96 Eldo ESC and the Vette couldn't pull away. Good times.

Agreee whole-heartedly on the V cars. I've (years ago) had a few 04-05 CTS-Vs, quite a lot of fun in the 6-speed variety. I lost my taste for them when the newer ones became 6-figure cars, however.

My newest toy (for now) is a 15 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT- not much one can do to it mod-wise, but exhaust and maybe a Diablo Sport tune will be in its future.

Glad to hear you dusted off the Shelby; love the new shifter knob. My brother and I were at Mecum last week and the Fords seemed WAY off the money as compared to the Chevys and Mopars - but that's to be expected, I guess. Even though I thought prices were high, there were more no-sales than usual (I believe) and there were deals to be had if you worked at it.
