Every day in the mirror, buddy, every day…Really? You've never seen anything that wasn't very tall but was very thick?

Comparatively speaking, Vienna’s aren’t exactly Ball Park’s but if it’s all you’ve known, it ain’t so bad…so I’ve heard.May not be long but big around as a Mich Ultra can

Next time you find your way down to Huntsville, try to get a round in at The Ledges. Exceptionally nice course as are the amenities.Well I did my first foray into Alabama for the RTJ golf trail.
Left Tuesday morning with my buddy and drove down to Muscle Shoals and played the Fightin Joe course. Right on the Tennessee river, very cool. Then we drove over to Huntsville and stayed with his brother that night, then played the Highlands course yesterday morning before driving back.
The whole thing was very cool. I didn't really know that much about it but each of these places has a couple or even three courses at each venue, usually two championship style courses and also a par-3 course. There is a LOT of golf to be played here! Each place has a Marriott close by that is associated with the course so perfect for stay and play.
Hats off to RTJ for setting these courses up. I haven't had this much fun getting around a track in quite some time. Hard to explain, but the way he lays out the course with the traps and the water etc is fantastic if you like thinking your way around the track.
Both courses we played were in great shape with good fairways, smooth greens rolling about a 10 on the stimp (although lots of pitch marks due to how much play they get) and fantastic bunkers. The rough was no joke even though it wasn't that tall in the primary cut, it was thick and your ball would nestle down and you'd have to hit through a lot of grass before getting the club face on the ball.
The great thing is that since I live within 100 miles of the nearest course I qualify for the players card, which only cost like 50ish bucks and it brings the green fees way down. I paid about $53 bucks at both places. Unbelievable.
Bottom line I'll definitely be going back for more of that. The two day trip was super easy but I can see how a vacation where you drive around from place to place would be great as well.
My group has a trip planned to Santee SC in Oct. Looking forward to that and hoping the courses are nice.
Rent a car, or they have a shuttle drive 75 miles to Mesquite. Play Wolf Creek, no way you’ll be disappointed. Like playing golf on Mars. Several other course there also, Conestoga and Oasis (Arnold Palmer course) are great tracks also.A week in Vegas coming up in November.
This is on the agenda - anyone played this one?

A little further down the state, maybe 3 hours from you, the complex just outside Pratville, AL (just north of Montgomery) is also a very beautiful place. It’s home to one of the highest ranked public courses in the country. You can catch a few glimpses of it off I-65 as it winds around the Alabama River.Well I did my first foray into Alabama for the RTJ golf trail.

Took down Rory on the 2nd playoff hole. Rory birdied, then Billy drained an eagle putt on top of himWell now at least there is one Billy who is a WINNER! Horschel won the BMW PGA tournament. Way to go, B.
