Henderson Tabbed as SEC Freshman of the Week
Freshman DB recorded the second pick-six of his career to earn honor

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Freshman DB C.J. Henderson picked up the first SEC honor of his career, earning SEC Freshman of the Week, as the league announced Monday.
Henderson recorded an interception in the fourth quarter against Tennessee, running it back for a 16-yard touchdown, the second of his career, to give Florida the 20-13 lead. He became the first Florida freshman to record a pick-six in back-to-back games in program history and the first Gator to do so according to records dating back to 1965.
He is also the only true freshman in the nation to have returned an interception for a touchdown in consecutive games, according to records dating back to the 1996 season.
The Miami, Fla. native is one of two freshmen to have recorded at least one pick-six this season and is the only one to have two under his belt. Through his first two games as a Gator, Henderson is now tied for first in program history for most interceptions returned for touchdowns in a season, with the all-time record for a career being four.
Henderson helped account for UF's third consecutive multi-interception game and helped give the Gators their 31st multi-interception game against an FBS team since 2010, which is the most in the SEC during that span.
With the victory, the Gators won their 13th straight SEC opener and 28th straight home opener, the longest streak in the country.
