Recruiting Class Needs & Numbers

Using these number charts for building the offense and defense along with a numbers chart I borrowed. And just for the purpose of this thread, we'll go with 43 on offense and 42 on defense.

We'll need the following. Obviously this is my opinion and the coaches have their own board. Also, I still haven't heard confirmation on a hybrid position one way or another. I understand Collins like the 4-3 approach, but I remember hearing something about a hybrid position like the Jack. You can call it anything. Jack, doe, Psycho, it's all good. Okay here goes. Again, this is barring no attrition and 85 spots. So that's 26 to get to 85. How do you guys project it to be? Thanks.

Considering we already have at least one TE commit (Imatobaebae)sp?, yeah, his numbers are wrong.

That's actually a great, great point. Kickers and punters can usually be a headache because they take a scholly away from much needed positions. Since we are going to be so far under our limit, now would be a great time to try and get a kicker and punter of the future. I'd be really happy with that.

I'm going to refrain from speaking negatively about the previous staff after this, but they did not recruit the offensive line or linebacker position very well. Specifically when they spoke about this being a line of scrimmage league. LB is another story. We have some talented guys there, but numbers wise, its a joke. WR playmaker depth is another issue as well, but I trust Mac is going to handle the offensive recruiting significantly better than the previous staff.

It's what happens when you try to take way too many of the same position in one class. It never ends well

I think its clear evidence that what we really need in every class is 6-8 Dbs.

Amazingly, if we sign 8 o-linemen it will double our depth at the position.

We really needed Matt Rolin and Alex Anzalone to develop into what we all thought they were coming in. Anzalone has shown flashes, Rolin has been hurt. Speaking of LBs and hurt, did anything ever leak out about Morrison? Surgery? Estimated return time? Anything?

Last I heard was his family didn't want it made public. Doesn't sound good to me at all.

Definitely, other people don't get it, they need to get a grip, around the midline. We kicked azz and won the TOP for almost every game the last 4 years by taking in 6-8 DB's every recruiting cycle.
