Arizona State: Herm Edwards is expected to become Arizona State’s next head coach, pending approval by the school’s president, according to Sun Devil Source and Devils Digest. The 63-year-old Edwards hasn’t coached since 2008 and only coached in college football at a San Jose State assistant from 1987-89. Arizona State athletic director Ray Anderson used to be an agent, and Edwards was one of his clients.

Oregon: Because of a lucrative contract offer from the school, Ducks officials “are not feeling panicked or distressed” over the prospect of losing Willie Taggart, a person with direct knowledge of the matter told The Athletic’s Chantel Jennings. Read more here.

Florida: Mississippi State defensive coordinator Todd Grantham will follow Dan Mullen to Florida in the same role, according to 247Sports and multiple reports. Grantham spent one year at Mississippi State after three at Louisville and four at Georgia.

Tennessee: ESPN’s Chris Low reports the Vols couldn’t come to a deal with Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm and have turned their focus to N.C. State head coach Dave Doeren.

Oregon State:
Washington offensive coordinator Jonathan Smith will be named head coach at Oregon State, according to The Oregonian’s John Canzano and multiple reports. Smith is a former Oregon State quarterback and graduate assistant. He’s spent the past four years at Washington.

Oregon: The school has offered Willie Taggart a new contract worth a little more than $20 million over five years, according to Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples. Florida State is reportedly doing background work on Taggart, in case Jimbo Fisher leaves. Taggart’s current salary is $2.9 million. (Update above)

Kentucky: Mark Stoops will use the new 10th full-time assistant spot on the defensive side of the ball, according to SEC Country.

Take Frost to Nebraska where he can get more than cold feet. If he can rise up above 6-8 other better football institutions in his own conference then more power to him. I have my doubts.

@ralphDrussoAP: Auburn gave a seven-year $49 mill deal to a coach it was thinking about firing a month ago.

This has been the drunkest week in the history of college football.

So.....Herm Edwards to ASU is officially done, and super weird. They are structuring it like the NFL and are going to have a general manager.
