Reduced seating capacity coming to college football, including Alabama

Fortunately UF didn't add fan capacity like other SEC schools. You don't need over 100,000 seats.
TX A&M 102,000
UT 102,000
LSU 102,000
BAMA 101,000
UGA 92,000
UF 88,000
AUB 87,000
FSU 79,000

Since more people nationally are trending toward watching on HD TV our future improvements on the stadium will likely reduce capacity not increase it and improve the fan experience. Bama who is on a roll just reduced capacity for fan experience after they had just increased capacity.

As you get older it gets more appealing to watch on your HD TV at home irregardless of your school. The students nowadays have short attention spans and want good wifi and UF updating wifi has already started and will be done gradually over the next 3 years.

UF was smart not to take on debt to expand capacity like other SEC schools as we now turn our focus to things that will attract future recruits like the new IPF, Athlete academic center and eventual Football center.

New Technology and non deductibility of tickets will hurt future fan demand at all schools. Fortunately UF is not loaded with debt so we can afford the planned new Player Football center.

We also chose not to add any amenities or everyday facility upgrades that might attract top tier talent both on the player level and the coaching level.

Make up your mind Donkey. You also claimed I was that UF professor who likes cats. Keep your stories straight.
I'm the one who thinks that, and I still do. He's back and forth on whether you're a 2222 reincarnate.

Not any? Partially true. We are behind on having a Football center ( the 1998 Swamp Front Door does have a large gym but is not centralized next to the practice field). The advantage of building later is you can see what others do and copy strengths and avoid weaknesses.

Our Indoor Practice Field and Athlete Academic Center are 2 of the newest ones. The Athlete Academic center is the best in the SEC and we need it with UF being more difficult academically than most SEC schools.

When the 130,000 square foot Football center is completed adjoining the existing IPF and grass practice fields we should be more than fine. We will copy the strengths of other Football centers and add new elements.

Maybe it was a good idea not to waste all that money in a facility arms race since we are having a bad streak. Now when they get built it will coincide with us having a top team again. :D

Sure thing. Wait til 2025 or so when we might have a championship coach and the facilities to compete, amarite?

You will have plenty to complain about this year so you should be happy. You will have less to complain about in 2019 season as the brand new defensive and offensive systems will be in place. You will be able to complain about no championship next season also.

Fact is that UF will face a UGA which has over 10 FIVE star players. Of course Bama has more 5 star players than UGA. This is not Mullen's fault. Mullen's first big class should be 2020. With Bama and UGA so loaded it will be difficult for any SEC team to beat them for the next three years. Mullen's first chance against those two talent wise will likely not be until 2022 at the earliest (IF THEY HAVE JUNIORS GO PRO) if he gets a good 2020 class.

I spoke to Stricklin and he says more than likely we are going to downsize by 2k seats at some point. Larger sitting and more comfortable seats in general for everyone.

Look we are all entitled to our opinions and you certainly have yours, but I find them to be all over the place and from an x's and o's football angle, they are almost laughable. what does what is in BOLD actually mean? You make it sound like UF is doing something never been done before. I do not buy the BS that every time a new coach comes in he has to get his players to fit his system. memo to all the morons. All of the Power 5 schools are recruiting 95% or more of the exact same players, regardless of their "systems" . It comes down to blocking, tackling, coaching and all the intangibles. And we can't do ANY of those things regardless of system or when it gets "installed" but you are welcome to continue to genuflect in front of Fooley and Stricknine and Cousin Eddie and anyone else you adore. have at it.

He won't be around that long. He should have thought of that when he was hiring a shyt staff and firing the only top recruiter he had.

It is absolutely Mullen's fault that we're not getting any of these 5 star players in 2019. He needs to earn that 6 million dollar paycheck. All of Mac's recruiting classes were outside the top 10. Mullen isn't improving much of anything when his first two classes aren't much better. A $6 million a year coach shouldn't need 6 years to rebuild a team.

Well FFS why don't they just tear down the Swamp and the 3 or 4 dozen people who are still interested in watching this garbage by the end of the year can just bring folding chairs to the IPF and watch the games being played in there.....

Mighty optimistic of you. I don't think we will be successful until we expel the cancer, that is Jeremy Foley. But he is a metastatic and aggressive cancer. Overwhelming force will likely be needed.
Fooley's influence is waning. All the UAA parrots are finally admitting we need facilities to compete. Now it is just a matter of cleaning the rest of the Foley Era trash out of the AD's office and stepping on the gas.

I'm not sure Stricklin survives the Mullinz hire regardless.

I look forward to any positive progress. Purging Stricklin may be needed just because ignorance can be passed onto or adopted by successors. Foley's stink is pervasive for sure.
