My main AC sits above my garage. The drainline for it has absolutely kicked my ass this past year. I reached a point today where replacing the entire line was the only option. Brutally hot, working in extreme tight conditions. But I got the entire run 100% replaced.

In the old line, there was a 5 foot solid section of:


Rust pieces. My evaporator disintegrated something like 5-6 years ago. That’s probably half of it right there

You should pour a cap of bleach down the drain line every time you change the filter.
Not sure how it would help with metal though.

I’m very disciplined with routine line maintenance. It wasnt gross or didn’t smell. It was like the cocina shells you find on St Augustine beach.

Back in Nov of 2020 when we built our home office onto the house our framer guy knew a guy who knew a guy and got us solid cedar posts for $80 each. They’ve sat in our garage for a year and a half “drying.” They finally came back this week and put them up. Turns out they wanted our old columns for another project. We sold them for $35 each. Spent the day staining 8 columns. (front and back porch) Now we need to stain the pine ceiling on the porches that have been up for 16 years. @Seedy spent the day in the bathroom. He loves tile work.

There’s always something to do around here.

Anyway, I have been getting a little braver the last several years on autobody work since I attempted to fix my last truck after dropping a tree on it. I’ve had a dull spot develop out of nowhere on my current truck. To me it looks like someone had some sort of solvent on them or their clothing and leaned on the truck.

I did all the “tree damage job” with elbow grease. This was my first attempt with a real high speed rotary polisher. It was just a tad quicker and way less sweaty. I used Chemical Guys C4 Clear Cut Correction Compound and experimented with several different pads.

After. It’s not perfect if you zoom in. But I am not certain how far to push it with these polishers. Usually my Achilles Heel is not knowing when to stop…. so I am stopping here. There was even a long, very superficial scratch (probably from a handlebar) right down middle of it that I didnt even realize when I started. That EASILY came out:

Life has gotten in the way of our bathroom remodel. Fortunately we were only doing it for resale purposes but it would be an added bonus if we can live up there and use it for a time before we sell. This year Seedy was studying for months for a big test, then switched jobs and I’ve had health issues all year so the bathroom was put on hold for months. All that is left now is the bathtub area but I’m using the shower and love it!

The rock floor took me an excessive amount of time to make sure you couldn’t see the 12x12 squares but I'm pleased. I’ve always wanted a rock floored shower. Thanks to Seedy, it drains well too with the right slope. It was a pain to do. The glass door guy screwed up the measurements and after waiting 6 weeks, he had to reorder it again.

It will all come together eventually. Or not. One thing is certain, @Seedy will probably never do tile work again!

If you're not real familiar with high-speed buffers be careful on the edges, they'll burn through in a heartbeat

Barstools and chairs are stupid expensive. I came across a great deal at a furniture store for 3 scratch and dent barstools for $35 each. I got 3 for the price of 1 essentially. They are very sturdy but were white and I wanted black. Took them apart and spray painted them. Then a coat of polyurethane. Did the same thing to some chairs 10 years ago and it holds up well.

Final pandemic project complete (except two pieces of base trim) and @Seedy will never do another project for me again! Until the next time of course. It took just over a year, 3 employer changes for seedy and 4 surgeries for me but WE did it! (Mostly him) Whew!

The only part we hired out for was the glass shower door. Truly thankful that seedy had the time and the talent to do all the work.

Oh wait, I forgot that once you remove your tools out of the closet you will need to hang the rods for the clothes! It’s a minor project really….

Saturday - Wednesday, you'd be correct. Sometimes I yell out my office window (2nd floor) to her on the back porch, but those times are coming to an end...it's cold.
