Did D Rob go to the Jordan Reed pass catching clinic?

Anybody else notice how often D Rob seems to unnecessarily jump to catch a pass, and that the jumps are ill-timed? A couple times I've seen him jump so early that his feet are almost back on the ground by the time the ball gets there. So weird to watch. Gotta give him props for that one handed catch in the first quarter though, huge momentum saving play there.

But the jump makes the catch look so much better.

I always thought it was for injury reasons, so if someone is coming in to go low on the player catching the ball as they catch it, they don't ruin their knees and such. At least he doesn't jump on the little WR screens, that would weird.

The coach has them do "rebound" drills daily to go up and get the ball "off the boards" above the defender. D Rob needs to realize that if he is wide open and the ball is not high there is no need to leap....a difficult concept for some.

Apparently Dixon has been working with him on this, because he's much better at timing his jumps than last year.

I am in the camp that he is worried that he is getting outshined by a Freshman, and he has to do everything he can to keep his job.

There's a whole camp for that? Or just some dude sleeping in his car at the rest area?

Mac's thinking about starting such a camp but it's still up in the air.

Reed and Robinson are seeing who can jump first to catch it.

I don't know if you're serious about this, given I know nothing about football training. BUT, if they do practice this I could see it becoming a reflex action such that there is no thought when catching, the body just reacts by jumping for the catch.

I have great knowledge about athletics and I think he came down too slow. Gotta work on that at the camp.

That photo shows how great "where the ball was thrown". Grier seems amazing. His Dad taught him well.

Good. That's what competition is for.

It's working well at both QB and WR. That extra little push has meant everything IMO.
