Or at least try it in preseason. Or move it back another five foot.

It will not matter if they move it back or widen the court and make the shot 30 feet all the way around. It is an epidemic. When the 3 point shot was only a part of the ABA, you had a limited number of guys who would attempt it, only guards or occasionally a small forward. And it was shot very sparingly, but it did allow some of the slow white guys, say Louie Dampier, to have a pro career. When the leagues merged, the 3 pointer was also used sparingly in the beginning by only a few guys and often was used at the end of quarters as the final shot, but I would say most teams took less than 10 attempts per game. Fast forward, and now that all 5 positions on the floor on each team are practically capable of shooting the 3, the can of worms has been opened and cannot be closed. I have great appreciation for the skill of a 7 foot 5 guy to handle the ball and shoot it from long range, but the game for even the tall or big guys is taught with them facing the basket. Years ago those guys were taught to play the game with their back to the basket. That is no more. And with the skill for most of the players to shoot 40% or close to that from 3, a mid range shot is considered a poor selection given that the % of makes is probably high 40's at best, so the game is lay ups or 3's and very little in between.

Well FF we gotta do something for this game. How about the three only counts with 2 minutes left in the game.......I would erase that gdmmm line and get rid of it........
