Egor Koulechov named SEC Player of the Week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Egor Koulechov was named as the SEC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.

The graduate transfer has averaged 20.3 points per game and 8.3 rebounds leading the Gators in both categories.

Koulechov made an immediate impact scoring 34 in the season opener against Gardner-Webb. His total tied the record for the most points in a Gator debut. His 34 point performance is the most points scored in a single game by any player in the SEC this season.

He followed that up with a pair of double-doubles against North Florida and New Hampshire becoming the first Florida player to do so since John Egbunu in February of 2016.

Koulechov has also been nearly flawless at the charity stripe knocking down of his 12-of-13 attempts in the first three games.
