If we need more motivation after coming off a 4-8 season with our coach sitting on the hottest seat if CFB, then we're toast. I think they already understand where we're at and what they need to do this year.

On paper objectively I probably would have us 7th in front of Miss State and Missouri but I can see why some might think Missouri would be better because their new QB has already shown he has the "it" factor as a freshman. Ole Miss is bringing quite a bit back and could be dangerous also.

I've never seen where a team could be ranked anywhere from first to 10th in their conference. But that's the reality of our team this year.

All just preseason fodder...building up the excitement for the coming season. For me, we are not good...until we show that we are good.

Let's just start by actually winning a game. It's been a long time.

Just read the rankings. They're retarded.

Should be:

1. Bama - Elite - New QB? How's he going to be? Could lose anywhere from 0-3 games.
2. SC - Replaces QB and Clowney. But a deep, talented team which has Spurrier calling plays.
3. Florida - Semi veteran team - No injuries and change of offense. Top flight defense. Young but talented secondary. Could be best or 10th best based off talent.
4. Auburn - Reminded me of 2012 Gators. Lucked out in a lot of games. Defensively average at best.
5. LSU - Really, really young but talented team. Who's going to throw the ball? Can they close out games?
6. Georgia - An absolute abortion defensively.
7. Texas A&M - Sumlin's offenses don't drop off. They've been stockpiling offensive AND defensive talent the last couple years. They will be top 4 next year in the SEC.
8. Ole Miss - Hugh Freeze has brought in some elite talent. Just no elite depth. They could be 8th in the SEC or 12th. Solid defense. Average to below avg offense.
9-14 Who gives a sh*t.

So you've got us above Auburn and LSU? That's optimism.

They have us at #9 in the conference - one ahead of Texas A&M. If this isn't the motivation that we need, I don't know what is.

Mizzou lost a ton of starters and yet, they're ahead of us.

The last time we played Missouri they curb stomped our asses. You can't possibly say it's fair we are ranked above them the way our season ended. Like Noah brindice said on the radio a hundred times "just because you play for Florida doesn't mean you're good" . I think we can beat them but by no means do we deserve to be ranked a head of them. :peabody:

Now that I've made a long rant I don't put any stock into preseason rankings let alone conference preseason rankings.:jerkit:

I like it. Let our boys use all of this as motivation. We've been getting little to no respect from A LOT of people. Every now and then I'll read an article that says we could be this years Mizzou or Auburn. For the most part, mainly on the ESPN front, I've seen us picked 3rd in the East with little to no mention of us winning it. I say the more that picks against us the merrier. We'll have that many people eating crow when we're in Atlanta.

I think Auburn is overhyped and there was virtually nobody ready for that offense last year.

I'm optimistic as hell about our team. Sure, Muschamp sucked ass last year but I think Pease was the worst OC in the country and had no business calling plays.

I think LSU is a year away. Young at virtually every position.

But it wouldn't surprise me to see us finish 8-10th in the SEC as well. 'Cause although I feel good about depth, assistant coaches, and talent, I'm not so sure about the head honcho. We'll know shortly.
