From the practice reports they said he "actually looks like a DE now" (saying he is much bigger). Again, take those sizes w/ a grain of salt. Carter said he's 285 just last week. It's ridiculous and they do it every year.

Slaton 358 up 15 from 343. Unless his stamina has doubled there's no way he can play more than a few plays at a time at that weight. Combined with poor instincts for the position, I don't see how he can live up to the expectations I had for him coming in.

Donkey, allow me to recommend the classic aluminum foil hat. The model I use allows me to dial out certain comments - such as highly enthusiastic estimates of a player's potential weight, height, talent, academic standing or likelihood of being able to stay the hell out of jail. Not only does it help to avoid undue jubilation before the fact, it seriously reduces the volume of background noise.

Yes, he was benched for those qualities because sometimes you have to make a play after attacking your gap and blowing up your blocker, something he did a little better job of late in the season.
