I don't recall any TE receptions. Did they even run any routes?
Jonathan Odom 8 (9.88%)
Nick Elksnis 2 (2.47%)

Well, two freshmen got on the field for a total of 10 snaps. That's actually spectacular for Mullen.

Interesting that Dexter only got in on 16 plays while a converted TE got 22 and some guy that showed up on Monday got 12. Also, I know its early, but is Wingo a bust? 5 star LB that can't see the field against FAU (2 plays). Instead, we played all the same LB's that couldn't stop anyone last year.

Yeah he got less than Brunson. Who hasn’t made a tackle in the 10 years he’s been here.

Dexter got 2 fumble recoveries in the 16 plays he was one the field. Pretty good nose for the football. You would think he earned more snaps. But who knows with this staff. If he was a senior he would probably play more.
Wingo had a nice blitz up the middle on one play late. I don't think he's a bust yet. He is undersized and young. But he has some tools.

No Diwun Black? I’m a little surprised here, what’s up with that?
:lmao2: uh huh.

Mostly,

1: he is dumb ass a rock and trying to play in a relatively complex (and not intuitive) defense. Failing to graduate in Dec and be here for spring practice hurt himself bc again he is dumb and will need spring reps.

2: he is a tweener or strong safety in an defense that doesnt play a strong safety or an outside linebacker.

from 247:

The Gators played without four of their 10 scholarship interior defensive linemen in the season opener, with Jalen Lee(ankle), Jaelin Humphries (wrist), Christopher Thomas (on crutches, brace on left leg) and Lamar Goods(undisclosed) all missing the contest.

"Having four interior defensive linemen out, that was tricky in Game 1, so hopefully we get two of them back this week," coach Dan Mullen said on Monday during his weekly press conference.

Goods, a redshirt freshman, could return Saturday against USF. Florida's hopeful to get another redshirt freshman back, as well.

"We don't have any injuries coming out of the game, which is very fortunate," Mullen said. "Hoping to get Lamar Goods back this week on the defensive line. Jalen Lee is going to be questionable, we're not sure. He'll be right there on the edge of being ready on the defensive line."
