This was a winnable game, but we shot as poorly as they did. They shot 38% from the field and 21% from the arc. But we could only manage 40% from the field and 15% from 3-pt range. AU won simply because they took more shots. I think our defense looks better each game, but there is that small objective of scoring that we are streaky in. Castleton is taking three guys to the rim with him on every shot, so he passes it to the open guy who misses. Occasionally a great play, but not enough of those to be consistent.

The worst thing about the game last night were the stupid fouls on 3 pointers; those got AU back into the game after we finally had the lead. At least, I don't have to watch another game until next year!
Those were terrible, but not even close to the worst thing. We had the game won if we just make one basket. We use the final TO to make sure we get the play we want. And what do we get? Castleton trying to dribble drive for a layup from 18 feet out from the hoop? WTF was that!?!

He sucked on offense all night, had no chance of dribbling through the defense, had an obvious offensive foul push off they didn't call, and yet still never even got a shot off. Just terrible end of game play call and execution in a very winnable situation that potentially could have turned the season around with a conference road win against a top 20 opponent. Instead we sink further into the shltter of a lost season.

Completely forgot about this game. :bandit:
Watched the replay and saw a ton of home cookin'. Coming to mind are two fouls in a row on Wacie in the first half that were both ticky-tack; one foul on Bonham from 3, Reed basically shoving the ball (and arm) into his face. There was another call where AU got FTs and the announcers were saying it should have been our ball.
We still suck from 3.

Probably TLDR, but long story short, Felder needs to play more and Lofton kinda stinks

So our new coach, the self professed analytics guru, has failed to properly apply analytics to his approach?

That makes sense in this program.
