Former Coach Hatred Rankings

Ron Zook was 2-1 vs Georgia. Spurrier and Meyer also only had one dwag loss in their tenures.

Just throwing that out into the calculations...

Ray Goff???

WTF did he ever do to you?

I'd love to have him coaching UGA right now.

Dude was kind enough to lose to the Gators consistently and often spectacularly.

That's Spurrier's b!tch right there. Warms my heart seeing him coaching the Dwags.

Alex.
We hated that smug dwag no matter how much he sucked.

I don't HATE Ron Zook, but let's ease up on the hagiography.

Perhaps you've forgotten about that time he tried to fight an entire fraternity? That's really poor judgement from a HC.

Or his first year when Grossman and Taylor Jacobs would resort to eye-wink audibles from Spurrier's system because the system they were running (Zaunbrecher) sucked? They weren't allowed to do it, and they'd get bitched out for it, even if it resulted in a big play for us.

Ingle Martin at QB? (and I'm an Ingle Martin fan)

Throwing bubble screens behind the LOS over and over and over and over...?

So many bad losses...that Hail Mary at the half against Tennessee still sticks in my craw.

He wasn't a program destroyer like Muschamp, McElwain, or Mullen, but he wasn't a program maker like Spurrier or Meyer. He was (as the kids say today) "mid" bordering on "sus".

Alex.

As for the rest of your post, the man said he couldn't put it all together and was below average.

1. McElwain. Arrogant cocksucker who made up death threats.

2. Pell. He may have built it, but cheated his ass off to do it. He can rot in hades.

3. Mullen. Arrogance destroyed him.

4. Meyer. Lying POS.
GTFO with the Pell hatred.
Charlie brought swagger to UF.
How can anyone fault Pell for the cheating scandals that rocked Florida, when all along Bear, Dye, Dooley, Majors et'al were all yucking it up on the recruit trail paying players and bangin' momma's. Selective prosecution. I'll always think Dooley and Majors teamed up and went to the NCAA.

It was a different world then and if you weren't cheating you weren't winning. Pell did both.
"GIVE 'EM HELL PELL"
He loved Florida, so much so, after Florida and the NCAA were done with him, he spent years in depression and finally tried suicide. Turned his life around and died of lung cancer.

I guess I'm not the total outlier here either as I wasn't really all that enamored with Zook , but, I don't hate him either. He recruited well, was admired by the team and for the most part, ran everything clean. Notwithstanding a certain Frat house.
Alway's felt like Zook got a raw deal.

Yes, McElwain was a douche, Mullen an arrogant POS and Muschamp was a freaking fool.

Exactly!
I still remember the chants after FL/ga games, "Keep Ray Goff, Keep Ray Goff"

Perhaps you missed this in the post.

"and was a below average head coach."

I tried to type that real slow.

And oh yeah, who the hell even knows what "hagiography" means anyway? freaking nerd!!

A man that knows his history. Charile was just gonna play the same way all those other cksckkers did and they eviscerated us for it. Charlie brought in great playes, GOT the rich alumni to cough up the $$$$ we reallly needed to upgrade. He was probably the nearest thing to the Bear (where he learned how to coach) there was back then. Charlie was wound as tight as Urban. But he recruited many very classy athletes. Good people. and most of those violations were nitpickky bllshttt. I was there and read them in the paper each day...........UT bama/aub and georgia were still doing worse shttt up to Spurriers final years...........fckkk all of those hypocrites...

Based on your personal rankings (opinions) which you are entitled to, how in the world can you dislike Strichnine more than Fooley? Yes Strichnine is totally incompetent and a complete moron, but the first 3 names on your list have exactly one thing in common: FOOLEY. And far be it from me to know the exact job description of an AD, but this much I do know. Job #1 of any AD in the SEC is Football. It is probably numbers 2-50 as well. Nothing else matters if #1 is not working.

Foley gets the tiniest pass from me because I just can't stand Strickie's personality so much. I find his twang, lying to us with BS, smarmy existence infuriating (probably would even if he did not give contract extensions to Mike White and Jim McElwain). Foley is only a smidgen less solely because of being a Gator and at least owning his decisions and rationale about no arms race and hiring up and comers. Stupid perhaps, but he didn't flat lie about it. And, he just didn't give off so much child molester vibes as this fakely oversmiling fuchswad.

As for Zook, who most took issue with being first, I acknowledged it was less rational from a pure list of flaws perspective, as it's not technically his fault he was just born dumb as fuchs, yet was the only one willing to take the job that Foley had on speed dial. But, he did follow a legend, had a great team with Grossman et al (that last Spurrier team may have been his most talented and should have won it all). The fact that he played so many ranked teams is in part because they beat us under his coaching. 5 losses with that team was atrocious. We started ranked 6th for a reason. We ended up unranked or 24th in coaches poll for a reason - Zook and his minions.

Again, others gave a longer list of reasons to hate, but the contrast of how quickly one man could make us so mediocre and irrelevant was first felt with Ronald, and thus that first taste of such disdain will always be towards mumble mouth.

When you hire a moron who doesn’t work out, why hate the Moron vs the hiring authorities . When you hire and asshat who doesn’t work out, social etiquette requires hating both parties.

1(a) Muschump. Arrogant buttsniffing scum. Was out of his depth from Day 1 and sneered at the fans and the media who--reasonably--questioned why his offenses were so putrid with such tone-deaf nonsense as "we won time of possession!!" The loss at home to Georgia Southern is unforgivable; but he also gave up the Vandy winning streak as well.

1(b) Dipschit Dan. Where do I even begin? The very definition of an arrogant, out of touch coach that would rather draw on a whiteboard all day than recruit or overrule his coordinators as they dragged the program down. Then compounds those mistakes by idiotic comments at press conferences. Wasted the best chance at a national title by blind, stubborn loyalty to objectively terrible people and arrogant overconfidence in his own abilities.

It is impossible to list which one I hate more--so I wish nothing but scorn and misery upon their households.

2. Mike White. Objectively, he was given the most and did the least with it. Gator basketball was a year-in, year-out blueblood under Donovan. An established player on the College Basketball landscape. Mike White singlehandedly destroyed all of that. Even basketball diehards have turned apathetic. A terrible, stupid hire for a once-proud program that has been surpassed by a half-dozen other schools.

3. Sharkfucher. McElwain was out of his depth and a terrible coach, terrible CEO, and terrible brand ambassador with his clueless schtick. So bad I almost pity him for being a waste of oxygen, but lying to get out of a job renews my utter derision and scorn for him. The only reason he isn't higher is because the others really are worse.

4. Zook. He tried...and failed. No one liked him much when he was here, but he recruited well and unlike the others, didn't leave an empty cupboard with gaping holes in the roster. He also acknowledged he was woefully not the right guy for the job instead of arrogantly insisting otherwise. I can respect someone who's self-aware that did their best; to my knowledge, he's the only one who had a modicum of humility about his coaching tenure.

Muschamp was worthless and a leg humping sack of **** on top of that . He was also stupid and never should’ve been interviewed yet alone hired. The others at least won their division or in the case of Zook left plenty of talent on both sides of the ball

smfh...........have we not denigrated and lambasted and cried, cussed , screamed, whined, yelled, etc
The only coach that ever galled me was the guy that took over for Sloan and ruined a very talented BB team at UF
It was like hiring Frank Burns to run the 4077 MASH unit. I will remember his name soon........

The truly despicable Don Devoe.

”show older posts” isn’t working for me, but I saw what you wrote in Pasty’s quote. Try this, send the invitations to the absolutely positively have to invites early, like really early. Then, every “regret” rsvp you get means you get to send another invitation.
