Looks like the buck wasn’t quite as dead as he thought.

Rub a little dirt on it.

We need "the rest of the story"!

Great buck!

If Paul Harvey was still around maybe he would know. Wish I knew... It was sent to me via text and they didn’t know. Probably got started on Facebook or something and the story got lost in circulation.

Both deer I’ve shot at this year were from blinds and both times I walked out without the gun  won’t be doing that anymore. Rookie mistake.

Great buck!

Those wounds look like slices from a sharp object, not blunt force such as falling off the stand. My guess is the deer "woke" as he was being gathered up by the hunter and he met the antlers.

Here is West Tn. some deer are infected, so we have some serious issues.

Rifle season opens Saturday, and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is asking deer hunters to have their kills checked professionally for chronic wasting disease (CWD). CWD is a contagious and a fatal neurological disorder that affects members of the deer family known scientifically as cervids.Nov 15, 2018

Nice! Today is the last day for hunting in GA and I'm in a stand, in the rain, hoping to do the same thing. But the freezer is full so if I don't then that too is fine.

It didn't go well. Rainy and wind was all wrong. Didn't see a thing.

World record whitetail and all he did was cut the horns off?? :eek3:

The cape is likely at the taxidermist's, he just took the antlers for pictures.

My taxidermist told me it would be 4 to 6 months waiting for my deer to be finished, somewhere between February and April.
