The second ranked Florida Gators baseball team hosts fourth ranked Arkansas at the MAC for a 3 game set this weekend. The Gators took 2 of 3 last weekend against South Carolina in Columbia while the Razorbacks swept then #4 Kentucky in Fayetteville. This is the highest ranked matchup at the MAC since since #1 Texas A&M came to town and was swept by then #2 Florida in 2016. The weather is supposed to be fantastic so hope to see huge crowds come out to watch numerous future major leaguers. Games times are 6:30 pm on Friday and Noon on both Sat. and Sun. Go Gators!

A very exciting series. I work all weekend so won't be able to attend but I'll be watching. Don't want this to be the kiss of death but I like the makeup of this team and how they're playing. Dalton has been a monster addition; Horvath and Reese really producing. By Sunday afternoon folks will be wishing UF had covered those seats already. Bring your sunscreen! :pumper:

Wish I was there..

You are always there in spirit, DZ, you are always there. All games will be available to watch at the very least on streaming, so hopefully you can peek in. If not, all will be on the radio so you can listen via an app on 850 AM or 103.7 FM, depending on which is broadcasting.

Not a great nite at the Mack and the game was all but over after the 2nd inning. Top 2nd, ARK has runner on first and Singer has the 6 hole hitter 0-2 and promptly goes on to walk him. The next hitter is 1-2 and then doubles to left scoring 1. With 2 out a single off Singer's leg plates 2 more. We had a chance in the bottom of the 2nd with bases loaded and 1 out, Horvath pops out in the infield and Bell strikes out to end the threat. Have to be able to scratch with a runner on 3rd base and less than 2 outs, but we did hang around but never felt we were really going to make it a game. Their starter was just too good with his off speed stuff and Singer was not very good, especially in the 2nd inning with plus counts. ARK is a great hitting team, but we need to pitch better the next 2 days. See you at the park.

Great day at the park as the Gators clobber ARK and we got off to a fast start offensively finally. Bottom 1st, after the first 3 hitters reach base and JJ strikes out, India promptly deposits the first pitch he sees over the wall in right center for a Grand Salami and it was off to the races. A few takeaways. Glad to see Liput replace Dalton at the top of the order. Dalton did okay but he is not a leadoff hitter and Liput can and will bunt for a hit and battles better against the off speed stuff. JJ is struggling mightily and looks awful doing so. Similar to last year he seems to have stopped trying to hit it up the middle or the other way and is taking too many good pitches and left to chase the off speed stuff when down in the count. Another reason why we need Dalton in the middle of the order. Lets hope JJ can find it soon, but we do have more depth in the lineup hitting wise this year compared to last. Langworthy swinging much better and hitting more grounders and line drives. Two not so close games in a matchup of top 5 teams. Need to win the rubber match on Sunday to carry Uncle MO into Tuesday's tilt with SOW and another tough home series next weekend against a good Vandy squad!

Gators got to be high-ranking in NCAA stats: BA, RBIs, Hrs, etc. Dalton-India gotta be the top HR duo on any team. SEC teams ranking well.
