Gator Boosters, Inc. Surpasses $60 Million in Total Commitments in 2018-19 - Florida Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – While the Florida Athletic program was busy achieving success on and off the playing field in 2018-19, the supporters of Gators Athletics turned in their own spectacular performance – giving $62.7 million this past fiscal year, surpassing $60 million in total commitments for only the second time in school history.
Gator Boosters Inc., the non-profit fundraising arm for UF Athletics, received $34.8 million in football and basketball annual fund commitments, and $27.9 million in major gift commitments in 2018-19.

"Part of providing a championship experience with integrity involves providing financial support for top-tier facilities for our student-athletes, coaches and fans to experience in Gainesville and for our scholarship endowments," said Executive Director of Gator Boosters, Phil Pharr. "We are fortunate at Florida to have 13,000-plus generous Boosters and over 300 members of the John J. Tigert Society who help guarantee the future of Gators athletics and we are truly thankful for their support."

"I applaud the efforts of our Gator Boosters staff and we are all very appreciative of the commitment by our fans and donors to invest in areas that positively impact student-athletes and their own experiences," said Athletics Director Scott Stricklin. "There is a lot of momentum in our program and this continues that movement of pushing us to become the model collegiate athletics program in the nation combining excellence and integrity in academics, athletics and fan engagement."

The University of Florida Athletic Association invests more than $14 million per year for scholarship aid and almost $18 million in support services for student-athletes. On average, the UAA spends over $66,000 per scholarship student-athlete annually, most of which is funded by Gator Boosters.

The UAA is currently in the midst of a $155 million fundraising effort to support Phases 1-3 of its Facilities Master Plan, which includes the new Florida Ballpark under construction and will be followed by the planned new Football Training Center.

For years the membership of Gator Boosters Inc. have supported the Gators Athletics program's 21 teams and more than 500 student-athletes, giving them the opportunity to compete at the highest level of collegiate athletics while receiving an education from a Top 10 public university.

The Florida Athletics program recently finished third in the Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup All-Sports standings to mark the Gators' 11th straight national all-sports top-five finish. Florida is the only program to place among the top 10 for 36 consecutive seasons and UF is one of only three schools in the nation to win at least one national championship in each of the last 11 seasons after the men's indoor track and field team captured their ninth national title under Coach Mike Holloway. Five Gators teams won conference championships in 2018-19 (gymnastics, lacrosse, men's tennis, men's swimming and diving, men's indoor track & field).

Off the field, Florida student-athletes posted a 3.12 cumulative GPA for fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters. Overall, 17 of the 19 teams carry a cumulative GPA above 3.0 GPA after the spring of 2019 semester and 351 of our student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher. Four UF teams – men's basketball, men's cross country, women's golf and women's tennis - were recognized for their rank in the top 10 percent of the NCAA Academic Progress Rates.

Eighty-four student-athletes graduated in 2018-19, and 57 of them won a national or conference championship during their time at Florida. Close to 80 percent of them (67 of the 84) earned SEC Academic Honor Roll recognition during their Florida careers.

I don't like the sound of that. Is it planned or definite. Leave the word out if it's definite.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Which is a long fcvin time from now.
Fcvk the UAA. They’re prolly patting themselves on their backs for their hard work at fund raising.
Those donations are coming in because Mullen (Football) has instilled new hope in the program.
