And I would rather have a great freshman than an average senior.
Freshman are at best spot players. If you are playing true freshmen, you are Vandy.

Not always true. Trevor Lawrence did OK. So did Leonard Fournette, Cam Robinson, Jake Fromm, Jonathan Taylor, Trey Smith. There are many every year who beat out upper classmen and make the team better. Alabama plays a few every year. Those are the great ones, like I said in my post. I would rather have a great freshman than an average senior. I stand by that statement.

Yep except for a few outliers like that Bama O lineman a few years back that could handle NFL bound players as a true freshman you don't see that too often on the good teams.

Notice, though, that in my post I said I would rather have a GREAT freshman than an average senior. Some people have a problem with reading comprehension. I spoke in the singular sense, not across the board. Trevor Lawrence did fine for Clemson as a GREAT freshman. Others who come to mind over the years are Leonard Fournette, Cam Robinson, Jalen Hurts, Benny Snell, Nick Bosa, Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, Saquon Barkley, Calvin Ridley. These are just a few I can think of who were GREAT freshmen and beat out upper classmen for their jobs. All made their good teams better.

That is like 1 in 10,000 players, even blue chip players. Even guys like Tebow and Percy who are physically able to play cant learn the playbook in a few weeks.

Routine top players, the Pounceys really elite athletea, or even Halapio, are huge liabilities if they are on the field as true freshmen.

Trevor Lawrence, Nick Bosa, Cam Robinson, Jonathan Taylor, Trey Smith, Leonard Fournette, Jake Fromm, Brian Burns, Jalen Hurts, Benny Snell, Saquon Barkley, Ray Lewis, Sean Taylor, Michael Irvin, Reggie Wayne, Michael Vick, Dexter Lawrence, Calvin Ridley, Adrian Peterson, Herschel Walker, Luke Kuechly, Tyrelle Pryor, Dan Marino, Ron Dayne, Patrick Surtain, Derek Barnett, Dalvin Cook, Eric Berry, Peyton Manning, Braxton Miller, Maurice Clarett, Joey Bosa, Andre Caldwell, Jonathan Bullard, Dante Fowler, D J Humphries, Brandon Siler, Joe Haden, Major Wright, Jabar Gaffney, Danny Wuerffell, Ike Hilliard, Reidel Anthony, Fred Taylor, Reggie McGrew, Janoris Jenkins, Jeff Demps, Xavier Nixon, Shariff Floyd, Jelani Jenkins, Jacquez Green, Mo Collins, Mike Peterson, Errict Rhett, Robert Smith, Sammy Watkins, Duke Johnson, Garrison Hearst, Steve Tannyhill, Kevin Faulk, Jamal Lewis, Darren McFadden, Knowshon Moreno, A J Green, Laquon Treadwell, Alex Collins, Orlando Pace, Jabrill Peppers, Jamelle Hollieway, Eric Zeier, Tommy Frazier, Tommie Harris, Gerald McCoy, Malik Jefferson, Ronde Barber, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Slaton, LeSean McCoy, Teddy Bridgewater, Russell Wilson, Phillip Rivers, Vince Young, Colt McCoy, Michael Crabtree, Robert Griffin III, Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen, Sam Hubbard, Derwin James, J T Barrett, Samaje Perine, Roderick Johnson, Adoree Jackson, Rondale Moore, Chad Henne, J.K. These are just a few of the freshmen (the vast majority true freshmen) who have had a major impact on very good teams and made them better. - Nah, freshman can't help you. Those guys above were real liabilities. A team that plays freshmen is Vandy. Gimme a break. You pontificate and bloviate and espouse positions for which you have no factual backing. You state your opinions as indisputable fact, when most of the time they are little more than uninformed rantings.

Math isnt your thing, huh? You go back fifty years, and include some garbage 1500-2000 yard QBs to do it. Any clue how many elite college recruits there have been in that time?

And it doesnt much matter bc elite recruits dont come here anymore.
