Looks like Vandy has one of the highest scorers in the SEC (23 ppg - Nesmith)
Then comes a 16.2 ppg= so 2 players might score 11 more than our best. (do we have a best?)

Let's see how the announcers treat UF & how they treat Mike White. ??
Mike White can't get himself off the hot seat. His players will just have to catch fire to save him.

UF will lose this game, I think we all see it coming (although no one will actually watch).

there is a TINY correction, I believe, to your stats. Nesmith, who was their best player and one of the purist shooters in the nation, is injured and out for the season. It is one reason that Vandy is awful But they do play a bit better than their record as they have taken both Auburn and KY to the wire on the road. So playing in that wierd shaped gym of theirs is always a tough task.

The lost season continues. Vandy is riding a 25 game conference game losing streak but are playing at home in that funky gym. We usually allow teams to shoot well and play their best game of the year. Obviously this one sets up as a loss with the way we have been playing and how it appears the players have mailed in the season and are intent on getting White fired. Will this be another embarrassment and historic loss for our Gators? Sure shapes up to be. Late night game and a bunch of drunk nerds in the stands. Oh the horror.

Where is the I agree with you but don't want to click like button? Like? No I don't like it. And no I won't be watching. Why subject myself to anymore of this.

The big question for this game is whether we jump out to an early lead and then collapse or do we struggle throughout the game
The second key will be who CMW blames during the postgame interview

Why do we keep bothering?

A great question and one my wife asks me before each game

For me the answer is that I have over 40 years invested in this basketball program and I refuse to let a soft coach chase me away
I plan to wait him out and look forward to the next coach

It probably comes down to if Gators can throttle down V's top scorer 6'6" Nesmith 23 pt. average as well as defending down Lee's 16.6 ppgs? Players like Nesmith can go on tears against teams like us. IMO, from watching Blackshear with his "inadequate" left foot, driving players can cause him to stumble back and get by him (bless his big heart). KB is still our leader who does a great job ... but no way should Vandy have 2 players with better scoring averages than any of our Gators.?

So White in that interview told all that we were too soft.
In the early going versus MSU, Scottie Lewis was on a tear. Did you see him energized and doing a kind of limbering "dance" right after scoring? He had fierce energy flowing. Scottie was in the face of the MSU ball-handler talking, trying to rile him. White got hold of Scottie and told him to stop all that.(exuberance)?? And Lewis calmed down and so did his scoring. Right there is probably "White's curse", he puts a damper on any & all players' boisterous enthusiasm. Don't show off. But that's how these all-stars have played basketball during their ascension to stardom. White is their curse 1st and ou'rs 2nd.

The Mike White Blame Wheel:

1. The players
2. The players
3. The players
4. The players
5. The players

There's the consideration that my posting these might be a jinx? But if someone else wants to take over, that's fine with me.
I posted this Vandy one a day early hoping to dodge that jinx. I welcome any GatChatter who would do the official game thread.
