HBD Daytona. Keep on keeping on!
HBD DC, I hope I'm still posting on gatorchatter at 83!! Also, neat to hear you attended R.E. Lee HS. Was Leonard Skinner the gym coach when you were there?
Have a marvelous birthday, daytonacane!
Happy Birthday, Daytona!
Happy Birthday Daytona Cane! Hope it was a good one.
You're just getting started!! HBD
You You You mean there's somebody older than me on this board???...HBD Lady...
Happy belated. Hope it was a great one
Understand and fully expect it as a Gator fan would be massacred on any Cane board. However, you Gators have been exceptionally nice & tolerant of me and I appreciate OX letting me post as I truly think this is one of the best football forums on the internet. Besides, I am from North FL (born in Gainesville & raised in Jax.) and my politics and lifestyle in no way, shape or form fit in South FL, BUT, I still love my Canes football & the Univ. Miami. Remember, my late husband was a first string Cane scholarship football player & I attended the U.
Thanks Cover for your kind statement. I have been a widow since I was age 60 & decided years ago I did not have any desire to marry again. I was very fortunate & had a great marriage which produced 2 wonderful sons & 2 grandsons and 2 granddogs, and 2 daughter-in-laws who actually like me, but didn't want to "break-in" another man, nor cook for or wash his underwear....LOL
Now, now, now, you know they don't suck 'cause they even occasionally beat the Gators and generally always beat the team out west.
Thanks coach, been to Hampton lately or seen Charlie B.?
No, but my brother-in-law who is ten years younger than me had him in band, plus sat by Ronnie VanZant in one of his classes - that is, he stated he sat by him WHEN Ronnie showed up for class which wasn't too often. LOL My graduating class of nineteen fifty-six had Hoyt Axton in it (country-western singer & actor and whose Mother, Mae Axton co-wrote "Heartbreak Hotel" for Elvis). Hoyt and my late husband played football with Stumpy Harris .
I grew up a few houses down from Allen Collins - lead guitar, and went to school with his daughter, Amy. He crashed his motorcycle near my house, which resulted in his paralysis and later his death.
I drive through often. The school is locked down like a prison or I would go there sometimes. Havent seen Charlie or his son in awhile. But many of their relatives. Heck, he was related to hundreds around here.
Sorry I missed your party. Happy birthday Daytona!
