There's a story on SDS that Saban put in a call to McElwain but didn't get a hold of him. Wanted to say "we're her for you if you need anything".

Later in the story is says, "It wouldn't be surprising to see McElwain serve as an analyst for Saban for the rest of this season...."

Nick Saban on Jim McElwain: 'We're here to support him any way we can'

Saban added that he’s reached out to their shared agent, Jimmy Sexton, to contact McElwain.

The two former colleagues are still close, and it wouldn’t be totally surprising to see McElwain serve in an analyst’s role for the Crimson Tide for the rest of the season.

Saban likes to add smart minds to his staff, so we’ll have to wait and see if he does indeed discuss business with McElwain when the two eventually talk.

Maybe this will pacify that dickweed McElroy. As for Saban liking to add smart minds to his staff, why would he contact Butters?

Saban hires pretty much every fired coach, right?

It's a lot lighter pull for the coaches because there are 80 or so say doing the offensive game prep. Often multiple eyes doing the same job, ensuring quality.

I'm sure Butters will take some time off, hope someone gets desperate and hires him. I doubt his ego lets him take a staff job at the hive until he gets even more desperate.

People were lined up to hire Chimp as a DC. Zook had several offers within days of being fired.

The line for Butters is probably nonexistent. What a fvkking dud of a hire. Easily our worst in fifty years.

I doubt Nusschump ever gets an offer either. He is stunningly incompetent.

I wonder where Mac is right now?

Is he bunkered down at his home in Gainesville eating slab after slab of pity ribs w/ $hitty Sauce?

Did he return to Montana where he is "appreciated"?

Is he on vacation spending the $1MM buyout (instead of the $23MM, cause he's a narcissistic a$$-hat)

Is he competing for a coaching gig at south west agricultural college of Guam for a new job against a kid who's "really good at Madden"

I know he's not at the dentist. Just wondering where he'd go to sort it out.

I'd be willing to bet he's not in the state of Florida right now. I think he hates the state of Florida.

I was surprised when Pease got another coaching gig. Wide receiver coach at WSU I believe. Then he got an OC gig somewhere in Texas and was fired after like three games. I think his coaching career is over. We will probably see the same thing with Nuss.

I see Nuss taking the same path as Pease, positional coach, small school OC, out of the profession.

Butters will get another Head Coaching job, maybe not right away. But he will probably move west, or be a Assisstant to Saban then move west.

Frank Frangie's comments were very interesting. He said,

1. Mac saw Saban be the boss at bama. If he needed something, he told them to get it for him. There was no asking. It was that way for Mac at CSU. He acted that way at UF. The problem, unlike HBC and Meyer, he hadn't earned it. This "I'm the boss" attitude rubbed evertyone the wrong way.

2. He wanted the facilities improved. When it didn't come fast enough he became combative. According to Frangie, he routinely pissed off Stricklin and Fuchs with his comments about not spending enough money necessary to win. His attitude was toxic.

3. Throw that in with losing, the arrests and the death threat lie, it was time for him to go. The admin. had enough of him. The fact he only got 4 million, says even more was going on behind the scenes we don't know about.

I found Frangie's comments about the facilities the most interesting.

Yep. This seems about right.

The most important part is that he didn't earn it. Saban can be a doosh 'cause he wins like nobody else. Mac couldn't afford it.

And maybe Saban is not such a doosh at least with boosters, his boss and with the media. I don't know because I don't follow him that closely.

I do know he had issues with the Dolphins related to staff.
