After all these stories like the one Dooley just wrote about what a doosh Butters is, who would hire that guy? I can see some school being enamored with a couple of trips to the SEC game on his resume, but after all that has been written about his time here I'd stay the hell away from this guy even if I was looking for a coach for the local HS team.

A bad coach is one thing, a lazy one is another. You can't be a lazy coach and be successful.

Do I think facilities is a problem? Of course it is. I'm sure it persuaded a few here and there. But is it the reason we have 1/3 the blue chippers we used to? We know better. Everyone else has recruited well at UF. We are still the flagship in Florida. We have homefield advantage with enough elite recruits to make 5 or 6 championship contending teams.

How did Butters not know about our facilities? He was at Bammer and it was one of their primary recruiting tools. They did negative recruiting about our facilities and about the QB up the middle offense. Was he really totally removed from recruiting at Bammer? I'm beginning to wonder. You basically heard nothing about Butters on the recruiting trail. They must have figured out early on that the best path was to hide him.

Is facilities why first downs under Butters became as rare as TDs used to be? The answer is obvious. Old cinder block walls is not why Butters couldn't score on N Tex, FAU and everyone else. In the end it was quite clear that Butters was a fraud, an absolute fraud.

Just thinking that myself. There are plenty of threads getting a ton of reads, and several of them frequently get bumped. Like the recruiting thread, but really it doesn't matter much until signing day so I let that one float and will check back later for it. But this one, I want to check it multiple times a day. Even if I don't reply or bump it to the top, it just provides that satisfying feeling that he really DID get fired, and it wasn't a joke.
