Another crazy year! The infighting reached a fever pitch as the dumpers and those who had the audacity to show any optimism engaged in a bloody civil e-war. Bruised and battered, we're still here every day all ultimately hoping for the same thing - our beloved Gators to return to relevance. For those still standing, I salute you. Despite the battles, the members here genuinely care about each other. While razzing and e-beatdowns go on daily, a member in genuine need would get a dozen volunteers to offer help if they asked for it.
My annual November donation drive always drives home the point that I'm fortunate to be able to spend e-time with such a giving and generous group of people. My expectations were exceeded yet again, even with the current state of the program. I understand that it's therapy, a way to get it all out before the urge to sling your remote at your expensive TV overtakes you. I recently got a personal email from Ashley Moody, the Attorney General of Florida. She said that law enforcement entities all across the state had expressed gratitude for Gatorchatter, as their reports of property damage and domestic assault following Gator games had dropped 81% over the last ten years. That's the power of Gatorchatter. As a result, I'm up for the Distinguished Public Service Award, an enormous honor.
So guys and gals, I'm thankful. Thankful to live in a country with first-world problems, like not enough closet space. Where we're blessed to the point that we can get emotional about the ups and downs of a football team, while so many others around the globe face much bigger concerns.
Gatorchatter has a bright future. America has a bright future. And yes, even our GATORS have a bright future. I expect a personal turning point and a new chapter in a number of aspects of my life in 2025, and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thankful to have all of you along for the ride, as you're coming with me, like it or not.
Enjoy Thanksgiving and the time with your families. Go Gators!
