Has anyone heard if Coach Mac is planning to open Spring Practice to fans?

I think that would go a long way in helping Gator fans past the recent past, if you know what I mean.:grouphug:

I don't expect to know anything on that for a while but I would assume he would. He's fan oriented and I don't get the feeling he will have anything to hide, as he has said his offense basically changes with the opposition.

Another stupid Muschamp move, closing practices to the fans. The guy just didn't know what the hell he was doing.

I heard McElwain has a comment card box at the west entrance of the stadium, and he is especially interested in guys who noticed collapsing coverage during the ECU game when others were oblivious. .

I say lets give him a tailgate before some of the practices and the O&B game. He said that he didn't get to sample any food. Hell he may cook for us.

Yeah cause he was the first coach in history to do that.

Really??? You know of other coaches prior to Muschamp who closed 90+% of all spring practices to the fans for 3 straight years and the vast majority of fall practices, too??? Do tell, this should be a doozy from the all knowing Squatch. By the way, how did all that secrecy work out for our program???

Muschamp closed practices to fans so none of us would know how much of a dumbass he was until gameday.

And why does it matter? Were you going to go to every practice? Have you ever been to one? They're boring as sh*t!

Meyer also closed a lot of practices as I remember. Especially his last year when Brantley was QB. I don't have a problem with coaches closing most of the practices if that's what it takes to get the players and coaches to focus.

That's what I was thinking. Meyer closed practices when here, didn't he?
Only after the infamous azzhole Jeremy Fowler baited a very young wide receiver into untoward comments about now having a "real" quarterback to throw the football after Tebow graduated. Urbie went ballistic about Fowler publically and it was the beginning of the end of the Meyer era. Fowler was eventually banished to the frozen hinterlands of northern Minnesota and Urbie caught helicobacter pylori, among other issues and quit, twice.
Before that practices were open and Urb held a presser from his golf cart at the end of every single one for the stringers which was posted immediately online daily by the SID's office in the days before the obfuscation specialists known as Gatorzone.

It really doesn't matter to me. More than likely he'll follow the Saban rule on this matter - whatever that is. That will likely include asst coaches refraining from media discussion as well.

Thanks for the non-answer answer. As to why it matters, it's nice for the fans to be able to come out and support their school, team and the players. It helps build more support and unity around the program.

I thought that's what games were for.
