If he coached Pee Wee football, this answer MAY be acceptable. This was idiocy.
A couple of things. Ok, 5 things. Whoa. 1) When did Bob Stoops' dad start hosting the Bob Stoops' show. 2) When and why did we start having the Bob Stoops' show. 3) Did they drag Bob Stoops away from cleaning his garage for the interview? WTF was he wearing? 4) Bob Stoops has more nervous tics than a meth addict standing in a COVID vax line. 5) Please, Strick 9, effing hire SOMEBODY. I can't do this 6 week F5-athon seeing who or who we haven't hired.
"Probably Napier. Probably announced Sunday. Trying to save recruiting." We're probably fuched.
Matt Campbell. Such fuchsing garbage. People start parroting about how Muschimp, Fuentes, Campbell whomever are "good coaches" and it seems to be impervious to actual facts and performance on the field. The run the clock out and keep the game close though. If this garbage is on the list, we are fine with 8-4 forever.
No probably about it.
Campbell literally makes me fawking sick. That beta speech about "my best me"or wtf ever deserved a kunt punch. Law may be optimistic at 8-4.
Looking to a Napier as a program saver when it seems we’re his second choice at best while everyone waits for Aranda to decide what he wants to do is a testament to how far in the shytter we are as a program in the eyes of others. I think Aranda is going to stay at Baylor, Napier will spurn us for LSU, and we end up with a bag of poo. UF despite its apparent advantages is not a desirable destination at this time. We’re the ugly girl at the dance. It’ll be someone no one here wants and it’ll suck.
Yup. He'd be a Butch Jones. Just awful.
At least Butch Jones could thumb wrestle.
Offense wins championships, defense keeps scores close so coaches not trying to win championships don't get fired.
Actually if you are winning big, you can babble almost whatever coach speak you want. So I would only fire someone for not winning and Campbell is fine for ISU, just probably would not win enough or win stylishly enough for UF.
Not really. Great D and Avg O gets you titles, Great O and Avg D gets you to the Outback Bowl
Nope, coaches have been telling you that for generations, because as I said great defense keep games closers saving coaching jobs. You can believe it of course ala Foley and hire Zook, Muschamp and McElwain and you won't get championships but you will rarely get blown out as SOS was by 45-3 at UTn his first year at UF. Did that game create doubt, sure. But it also showed he was trying win the game and so it got out of hand.
Your not going to win championships with a poor offense or poor defense and it doesn't matter how GREAT the opposite unit is. A Great defense and crappy offense keeps games close. Does that favor the coach? A Great offense and crappy defense keeps the ADD fans entertained. Does that favor the coach? How about an average unit on one side, a great unit on the other, and Great special teams? We haven't had that combo (not even close) since 2009. I don't see any coaches on the list that will get us there either.
Translation: Since no one from UF has reached out to me yet, I’m not going to embarrass myself by slobbering all over the opening. But if someone does, I’m all ears. It certainly helps to see and hear him react rather than read quotes in a tweet. I wouldn’t totally rule him out. Not yet.
Has anyone gotten more run as an up-and-comer than Matt Campbell? You can’t download a story about a big opening without seeing his name mentioned as a possible candidate. And yet all he does is consistently underachieve at Iowa State.
