The LB he blocked was laying on the ground. Then he took on 97 and 91 and with the help of Wayne moved the pile another 3-4 yds.

Ahem, that was Perine running the ball on that play. Carry on.

Lots of people attributing Perine's hard running against LSU to Scarlett. Perine found holes and moved the pile all day. Every offensive TD that game came on Perine's drives. He's the offense's LSU killer like Joseph is the defense's. Helluva run there by Perine.

            Nah, I think it's a real injury.

I saw a bunch of those dudes on the sideline Saturday. My memory isn't what it used to be but I believe Marco Wilson was on curved metal crutches with a soft cast from the thigh to the ankle; Malik Davis had one of those rolling wheeled things under one leg; Heggie had the giant bell hard cast; I don't remember what I saw on McCoy but I remember thinking "he ain't playing".

Are you talking about THAT play? Bc Jordan was shed quickly by that LB, Jordan extended his left hand and held, then blocked the same LB in the back, then stood there waiting for who knows what until the RB ran into him, then he blocked the guy tackling Peerine, knocking both the defensive player (I think it is an end) and Peerine to the ground.

In addition to the hold and block in the back, he earned half a tackle on that.

Maybe we are talking about different plays. Do you mean the second gif?

but yeah Heggie was blowing shyt up. we need four of those dudes.

When we begin to regularly recruit kids that subscribe to the mindset that making a huge block and pancaking an opponent is equally as much of a highlight reel play as scoring a touchdown, we instantly become a powerhouse program again.

We need more kids like this. I want players that embrace physicality and thrive when aggressive rather than kids that are just reactionary and passive. We need more Brett Heggies and less Fred Johnsons. He has some dog in him on the inside like the Pounceys did.

Hopefully, the entire O-line can continue to exceed the standard they are starting to set.

This is the biggest thing for me with the line. My kids know they will be bear crawling like a mf'ers at practice Monday if I see them stop blocking someone prior to the whistle or at the very least be hustling to try and engage someone when the whistle blows. A lot of time when the play gets past our guys they are not hustling down field to push the pile. Lines with that kind of attitude demoralize defenses.

Plenty of teams have won big w/o AA QB. A nice line fixes a lot of problems. You can also just feed the backs if you have a decent OL.

I agree, but in this day and age of CFB - other Alabama - most teams that have won titles have had a dynamic QB: Tebow, Winston, Newton, Watson....and now Alabama has one. So, in short: I'll take an Alabama style OL...AND a dynamic/all-American QB!! :D

Speaking of abuse by linemen, Vosean had his best game as a Gator but on that short TD run LSU had in the north end zone, Vosean got blown the fvkk up. Pancaked and rolled around on like a pig in slop. Basic physics I guess.

That's hard sometimes in college, when kids can't be punished with a physical task. Recruiting more guys for our system so no one thinks their job is safe will be huge.
