Hobby distilling?

Anyone out there considered giving hobby distilling a try? Legallity notwithstanding.

Figured with the popularity of the various moonshiner shows, someone would have given it a try.

It's expensive! Copper and stainless steel ain't cheap.
It's dangerous. Raccoons don't give up their penis bone willingly. And no self-respecting shiner drips their distillate into a jug any other way.
It's taxing. Literally, the Gov taxes the **** out of you.
It's frustrating. Soi boys today make all these requests for "blueberry" or "peach" and I'm tired of making apple pie too.

Josh Owens of 'Moonshiners' tv show got busted up pretty bad last Sat. at New Smyrna Speedway. He was racing a vintage bike in 'Sons of Speed' put on by custom bike builder Billy Lane. Shame on everyone involved for the lack of ANY safety measures on track. Not even hay bales.
