How did Florida and Will Muschamp wind up here?

That article is horrible - just a long excuse-making Muschamp puff piece.

"If Reed had returned for 2013, it would have made the offense entirely different"

Wha...wha...what?!

Probably not entirely different, but it would have helped improve it.

And if Harvin had returned in 2009, we may have won it all. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

Ha! I actually typed out puff piece as well but deleted it. More excuses.

Might as well play the "what if" game. Not much else we can do.

I don't see why you guys didn't like the article, other than number 5 about players to the draft, the article points out everything we say about Muschamp; he doesn't develop players, he doesn't play talented freshman, he muddles with the offense, and his poor choices in hiring Cheeseburger.

The tone of the article to me doesn't put it out as a excuse ridden puff piece...Of course though we all perceive things differently.

That article said nothing we don't know already.

Oh and if Tebow would have been given an 8th year of eligibility...

I agree. I thought the article painted a pretty damning picture of Muschamp's ineptness as a head coach. One of the things that struck me was the total lack of consistency in just about every aspect of this team starting with the assistant coaches. That much turn over can be a killer.

All of the tweaking and interference causes confusion and second guessing by the players and what you end up with is something like this....

I agree...it's nothing we don't already know and haven't said, but most of it talks about Muschamp not doing the right thing.

I have many words, most of them in English, that I would like to string together to comment on this in a coherent fashion. However I am driving. And it will have to just wait. But I will say this if monkeys flew out of my butt I would turn that into a very lucrative career and I would use that money to buy out must champ and hire a competent coaching staff.and I would have done it after the 2012 football season

The writer uses the phrase, "trying to run out the clock......in the first quarter." That's the Florida offense right there.

Ha! Muschamp was obsessed with keeping the game close. After the blowout at EMU, Muschamp vomited and could not sleep for days.

Muschamp does need to blame himself - He stuck with Driskel no matter what despite Driskel never showing he had it upstairs to play the position at a high level.

Agree with Ox. Although I like David Jones, this is a shamefully apologetic piece. While we're at it, I'd like to add 10 reasons why I didn't become a billionaire.

Muschamp's here because he toes the company line and doesn't ruffle Foley's feathers. No other reason. But that, too, won't be enough after we lose to Georgia. As I said earlier, it's only a matter of time.

I dont agree ox. I thought it was pretty spot on with a few excuses in champs favor.

I think its cool now that black coaches like Tomlin can become retreads like the old days. Used to be they would hire an old coach over and over before a Tomlin got a chance..............Does Cignetti get some attention by the NFL. Anyone watching the Oklahoma game tonight

Tomlin may just take one year off before coaching again

Would this require negotiations since Tomlin had another year on his contract?
