This was taken the day of in Steinhatchee...Inland Citrus county here, about 20 miles SW of Ocala. Only about an inch of rain with leaves and twigs blown off trees. Not sure whether or not they got a coastal surge over in Crystal River. Still windy but rain seems to have stopped. My girlfriend's sister had a power outage yesterday afternoon which was resolved in about 1/2 an hour. Gold star to Duke Energy.
You need to periodically run up your generator, particularly a day or two before you think you might need it.I couldn't get the generator to start!!
For years I've wondered what sofla looks like in person

Not sure what I did.
Unfortunately hitting south of you may mean the rotation of the storm pushes water in even more.Well, we get a double whammy from this storm. My wife's and my parents live in Titusville/Cape Canaveral so they got the end of Ian yesterday. I know I'm getting nothing like what you had down there, but Ian's on its way to visit us now. We live in N. Myrtle Beach, SC. Never heard of a "King Tide" but that's what call a very high tide around here. We get them every couple of months. When they come most of Beach side (area is called Cherry Grove) gets 1-2 feet of flooding on a normal day. It was flooded yesterday. They are expecting a big king tide about 10 AM today right when Ian hits. It looks like it may hit a little south of us so that will help. Fun, fun...

Oh my God. You had me laughing so hard. My covid laughing cough was choking me.Well for starters, you jinxed the Dolphins. And we universally blame you for the Uk loss after you got Covid and totaled like 6 cars and a moped in that Whole Foods parking lot. I’m sure that’s what he meant.
Its so bad out here in cali with all the corn squeezins in the gas that I just buy new carbs all the time. Good thing amazon has complete carb kits for like 18 bucks.Gas with ethanol that is left in the tank goes bad and ruins small engine carburetors. Our generator carb had to be rebuilt.
Our small engine places sell non ethanol gas for $12 a gallon. Or you can drain you gas tank and run the engine dry before long term storage (more than 30 days).Gas with ethanol that is left in the tank goes bad and ruins small engine carburetors. Our generator carb had to be rebuilt.
Damn, $12? You can buy non ethanol gas at the local stations around Pensacola for just about $1 more than regular ethanol laced fuel. Everyone uses it for their boat, pwc’s & small engines / generators. That, plus a fuel shutoff valve and you’re good to go.Our small engine places sell non ethanol gas for $12 a gallon. Glad you escaped serious damage Crete.the good news(or bad depending on who you ask) is I survived. The bad is I’ll be fixing or paying to have things fixed for a while. Narrowly avoided flooding between 2am and 5am(thank God for the 2 pumps I deployed on the front and rear of the house)despite being mocked and ridiculed by 2 members of this board the day of the storm. Here’s few pics from my phone which posting from for the first time since I have no cable or internet. Btw prayers for anyone in SW Fl. or anyone with family there. This storm was 100X worse for them than for me or any of us in C. Fl.
Name names.Narrowly avoided flooding between 2am and 5am(thank God for the 2 pumps I deployed on the front and rear of the house)despite being mocked and ridiculed by 2 members of this board the day of the storm.
The guilty shall remain nameless but I’ll give you a hint. Their names start with Brad and DetroitName names.
We've heard from some friends in New Smyrna and Port Orange, they've lost everything due to flooding. Saw some pictures earlier with water up to near roofs.Have seen some pics of New Smyrna and Edgewater with pretty bad flooding. Have some family there but they’d left last week for vacation and aren’t back. Hoping it’s not too bad.
