This isn't the ice storm but watch this cool power line getting smoked in NOLA's neck of the woods--Kenner LA.

No ice for us here yet but everything should freeze tonight as the temps drop. We had a lot of rain today though so tomorrow morning everything should be in bad shape. My brother lives about 40 miles west of us and they lost power today due to ice. Another brother lives about 9 miles southwest of him but has no issues. My oldest brother is about 15 miles further south and west but still have no issues either.

We are thinking about having a bbq on the porch tonight. Anyone want to join us? Might need some help with the 20" of snowdrift off the roof.

It got down to 17F
It rained early so the Ice is not too bad here...Much worse in the Shreveport Area
What is bad here is we have so MUCH water... you have to cross bridges and causeways to go almost anywhere.

Temps got down to 16 degrees at my house. It rained, sometimes very hard, a lot yesterday and temps never dropped below freezing until around 8 or 9 p.m. This morning it was snowing and very cold but the roads were passable. However, since Redstone Arsenal is closed I am teleworking today.

I smoked Pork Ribs yesterday...it was in the high 20's...it took the smoker forever to get hot.

While I worked my way through college setting power poles for Gulf Power, I had a TX cook off not 50 feet away. Made a hell of a noise and sprays hot oil and debris all about. They usually go after a small leak drains the cooling oil (back then PCB based) and the remainder vaporizes. Any spark causes the contained ignited vapor to simulate an energetic material with a flame front advance greater than 5000 fps.

that sucks. I’m sorry and hope you get power soon. We lost power at 5:15am last week and didn’t get it back on until almost bedtime. @Seedy had two inverters hooked up to the truck to run all day to power his computer, the refrigerator and some other little things.
