Yeah, the 30’s was the sweet spot.30. Old enough to get respect at work. Young enough to do all the things that lose you respect at work.
This one is a tough. As of right now, I dont think I could make a decision.
Teens: so much fun without a care in the world. Sports, girls, ruled high school, knew everything there was to know. Parents are a real drag.
College: even more fun even though the coursework was tough and you were more broke than a homeless person. Could party all day and night on virtually no money. Basically complete freedom. As long as it was free.
20s: Making some money, no kids. Oddly, still even more broke than college. But at least you could finally start to experience the world. Could go to bed at 2 after a night of drinking and still easily go into work.
30s: Crushing debt is getting to you. Settle down a little and have some kids. So now you are broker than ever. The idea of going "out" is quickly shiitcanned as you would rather nap. The kids are obviously a cool thing and very rewarding... but overall, life is harder than ever. Plus, the time comes when having to pee in the middle of the night is a thing. Everyone in their 30s comes to a personal crossroad: do you start to take care of yourself?
40s: Early 40s things are turning around. Crushing the career. Kids think you are the king of the world. On the right money path just need more time. You havent been in this good of shape since high school.
45: Career is stronger than ever. Money and debt are no longer an issue. Kids are now teens are sorta a pain in the ass, but not terrible. Body is starting to hurt though. Hangovers now last 2 days and feel like you are recovering from surgery. Death of older family members is new and not fun. Your time is now the valuable thing and you dont mind paying for things that save you time.
That's all I got to report on so far. I'd have to pick where I am currently at... but there are some extreme advantages at some of those younger years.
JTFC man!!! Just stop posting in these threads! You're becoming "Captain Buzzkill!!!!"I'm looking forward to retirement.
My early 20s were a blast
I had triplets and a divorce in my 30's...not a good time.
About to turn 40 this year with an 8 year old and 1 year old so definitely get the no money part. High school was definitely awesome and 27ish was a sweet spot. Finally making enough money to do things and no kids to suck it all up. Actually really enjoy the age my oldest is at though. Finally old enough to do a lot of stuff but not to old to think a lot of things are lame.
You and I are the exact same person. Just add a divorce in the early 30s and another in the early 40s.This one is a tough. As of right now, I dont think I could make a decision.

Ditto on the nose and ear hair. And dead on about the single eyebrow hair. Have one the does that grows straight out to the right side. Makes me look like an owl.Besides those 2 things?
Another downside to the mid 40s: hair starts growing in really weird places. One single eye brow hair will be twice as long and twice as thick as all the others. You have to trim your ears and nose almost weekly.
