With all the new blood coming in, it's probably time for us to introduce and re-introduce ourselves and the site. About Us: Most of us were regularly posting on the Gator Sports Message Board, the GSMB, which was owned and operated by the Gainesville Sun. Ox was a mod. We had a disagreement with management who ignored the technological demands. They shut us down. Ox created this alternative and most of us found our way here. This site is not over-moderated. In fact, it's barely moderated (which is the correct amount). Ox draws the line at overly suggestive images because the advertisers object. This is not a safe space for anybody--pumpers, dumpers, Gators, others, men, women, non-binary, right, or left. Have a thick skin and don't take insults personally. We want you to have an av. We all love the Gators. None of us are happy about the level of play this last decade. This has led to some spirited debate but we ALL love the Gators. While we do have our share of pumpers, we have been labeled as the dumper site. The truth is, we were right about Muschamp, McElwain, and Foley while most other sites were living in an alternate reality. Ultimately, we love the Gators and we want the program to succeed. The PF used to be more balanced but we've slowly lost some of our more prolific liberal posters. Invite your liberal friends to join us. We're here to debate. Unlike your situation with your mods on THFSG, we tend to like our liberals and are even protective of them sometimes. We have religious posters but rarely get into religious discussions like what you're seeing in the Green Mile thread. We don't have as many women as Swamp Gas, but the ones we have are the best. Our most popular poster is Cover2, a high school coach. His post-game threads are better than any paid sportswriter's article. We have some really, REALLY smart and knowledgeable posters. Unfortunately, the smartest one stopped posting. We tend more libertarian than anything else. We've got a bunch that don't "like" Trump the man but think he's doing a pretty good job given the circumstances. About Me: I was a student during the Spurrier era. Undergrad degree in history, then law school, all at UF. Began as a prosecutor, then did corporate law, now in-house counsel at a not-for-profit. Married with a young son. I was more of a Republican in my youth (grew up loving Reagan). I've gotten more and more libertarian as I've aged. I'm passionate about civil rights in general and a First Amendment fanatic in particular. I love my God, my family, my country, and my Gators. Alex.
