You have to have a QB who listens to be such. I hope he is just motivating them and reducing expectations. We see other programs with true freshmen running the show with success there is no reason we could not do so as well.
Every new guy we get is apparently a QB whisperer. All the pumps told me so last time around as well.
Well, I heard Claribelle was pretty good.
Dan Mullen made All SEC QB into a D- option Qb. LOL at the graphic. That 28 ppg and lower 1st down percentage than Drunkmeier isn't at all what we want Gainesville, but we hired him anyway. Dan Mullen told me he is going to let Felipe run. Okey dokey. Probably made Ox chug a few Zimas.
one cannot force the willing
Hard to take you seriously, sometimes. Mac had a good track record coming in but his list of QB's was very pedestrian, they won games by not making mistakes at Bama. His QB's lack of success in the NFL proves that he was a process coach only. I have no idea what Mullen will do here but I'm still hopeful. If we can hold the injury and suspension bug down, I think 8/4 or 9/3 is possible but 6/6 wouldn't surprise me either.
I pray to god he is. I’m still a little annoyed at his reluctance to bring in another QB.
Mac flooded the roster with journeyman quarterbacks. Look where that got us.
Yep even though Franks was highly rated it was just based on his physical attributes and arm strength etc. and Del Rio was an FCS level QB in reality.
Got us a perennial backup qb and a Felipe Softerthansoapsuds Franks. Bringing in anyone who could challenge would have been fine with me. Mac also was an absolutely awful judge of talent.
How could you forget Southwest Central Texas State's walkon scout team QB.
Houston Baptist. Get it right.
Perhaps physically, but if you combined his mental abilities with say Franks athletics you would have a pretty good QB. If the oline and receivers were better Del Rio could have had success, not to mention the coach being stupid and allowing him to play very hurt.
And a lousy coach. The lack of talent was in his staff more than in his players. That is why I expect improvement in play and thus more victories as well.
I really dont know that many Div 3 teams.
You asked, "Is Mullen the quarterback whisperer?" Ask again in 5 months and I may have an opinion by then.
Good insight by Rodgers on the QB's need to set his offense and recognize where to attack the defense. In Mullen's spread that is a must have. I am not sure we have the guys to make that happen. I agree we have QB's with the physical tools but am worried about the mental ability to call the right plays to attack the defense. I think that Franks is our starter and will keep the job until he loses it. Mullen has the ability to coach him up but Franks or someone else has to execute the plan. We will know that soon. I am flat lined on expectations and like most of us will just hang on for the ride. I do know that the set up for our opening game is a hell of a lot better for us than a year ago.
The Some Bit$h better be, were paying him some serious bucks.
you must suffer from selective amnesia. mac being a qb whisperer was a regular topic shortly after his hiring, there were threads about it. Hell there were even articles from beat writers discussing it. And the dude before mac, well there wasnt as much qb whisperer talk about his first o-coord fat cheeseburger charlie but there was a lot of "look what he did with tom brady" from the apologizer crowd. It's ok big fella, we know you're old and senile. You're still my favorite poster.
