Johnson was arrested Monday on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder after investigators say he killed 13-year-old Jovanni Sierra and stabbed Elaine Simon, 43, and her son 13-year-old, Dane Bancroft, during a sleepover at a home in BallenIsles County Club. Johnson told police his faith is what led him to the violent acts.

In January 2017, several local law-enforcement agencies and the FBI came together with the staff at William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, where he was a student at the time. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office received information Johnson supported the terrorist organization ISIS and had reached out to the group online, expressing his desire to join them.....

In February, the FBI said they had all the evidence they needed and that an assistant U.S. attorney said that there was probable cause to charge Johnson.

On March 5, Jupiter police checked in with the FBI to see where they were with the federal charges and the agent said the affidavits would be “coming in the next several weeks.”

What is the deal with the FBI and taking action with these nutcases. In this case instead of doing nothing like other cases they were taking their sweet time getting this kid charged and putting a warrant out on him.

Now a family has a dead child that was stabbed 32 times because affidavits would be coming in "weeks". Haven't they ever thought that it might make sense to do the affidavits right away and walk the warrant to the Judge's chambers for their signature just in case the nut decided to act on his beliefs right away.

Corey Johnson, 17, was attending a sleepover at his friend Kyle Bancroft's home in Palm Beach Gardens when the attack occurred, according to Clint Shannon, Palm Beach Gardens' interim police chief....

"Upon going to check the boys, [Simon] was met at the stairs by Johnson, who stabbed her multiple times. At that time [Simon's 13-year-old son] Dane [Bancroft] ran toward Johnson to protect his mother, and Johnson began to stab Dane. The two were able to escape the home and ran to a neighbor who called 911," Shannon said.

Jovanni Brand, 13, was found dead in the home, having suffered multiple stab wounds and a throat laceration, according to Shannon. Simon and her son Dane Bancroft are currently at St. Mary’s Medical Center and are listed in stable condition, Shannon said. Simon was stabbed 12 times, while Dane was stabbed 32 times, Shannon said.

"Johnson has confessed his actions to investigations, stating he stabbed the victims because of his religious beliefs," Shannon said, adding Johnson had converted to Islam

This is a great reminder of why no one should exclusively trust any agency of government with their safety and security.

Until there is some serious swamp draining in the FBI, anyone concerned about a possible terrorist threat (or any threat unrelated to Russia), should be reporting it to local authorities and state authorities as well in jurisdictions with liberal law enforcement leaders like BSO's Scott Israel.
