All the venom aimed at this kid may be totally justified, but I have to admit I’d like to know all the facts before I condemn him. If it’s a case of him raising the price tag at the last possible moment, then eff him. But what if he was given the ol’ bait and switch? If a deal was made and it’s not being kept at the collective’s end, can we really blame him for wondering what else he was lied to about? I suspect I’ll end up shrugging either way in the end.
I think most are speaking of society and change.

I'm personally all for a minor-league NFL where players can play out of high school for money until they are eligible for the NFL. Everyone else can play college football under a scholarship. I don't care if the best talent is in the "pro" league, part of the fun of college football was the loyalty to the school itself, the pride, being an amateur, etc. Just give me some players that want to be there and college football can be great.
Remind me how many players UGA had enter the portal again? The system seems to be working fine for the teams on top.

UGA’s transfer to the NFL.

I thought I heard someone (Kirby?) say they’ll turn over 35 players this year. Their recruiting class has 28, plus 2 transfers in so far.

Where’s Hathcock when you need him? His good news /Rashada tweet is not aging well, and the optics on this is not good for UF. This needs closure one way or the other ASAP. Napiers army needs a PR damage control wing.

If the $13 mil were even remotely accurate, could other teams pay it this far into signing season? Seems like they would be tapped out on their picks. Are there caps on the NIL or could a donor pony up the money? I have no idea how this works but it’s stupid money on an unproven 18 year old. Stupid.

I don't know if any of this is true. And at this point I don't care. The whole thing has sucked the life out of my love for college ball. Screw it. I will say this. Get off the kid's back. If I was offered 14m for 4 years or something in that vicinity, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Then once I had turned into a mercenary, if I did well in year one, I'd go shopping for a still better deal. I'm really over this crap.

Lot of assumptions, most reasonable, but no certainties thus far. Without any regulations, this type of situation was unfortunately foreseeable. Double bad for us because it‘s happening to us. No way to know yet whether it is a third party interference or whether one hand doesn’t know what the other is doing from an institutional standpoint. If the money people have either over promised or not dealt squarely, then this situation will leave a scar. And where is Billy and the staff in all these proceedings? The longer it drags on, the less likely it would seem that there will be a favorable outcome for UF regarding Rashada and potential future damage regarding the high profile recruits, the game changers, that we will be vying for.

I guess the best way to describe this whole NIL situation is that it’s like a high stakes, no limit poker game and the appearance where UF is concerned has us being represented by a couple of teenagers in their first time at the casino using money they pilfered from Dad’s sock drawer. It may well be more detailed and thought out than that, but the optics are not so aligned.

I love college football, or at least what it has been previously, but here lately and into the foreseeable future, it will be more like the NFL as many others have opined. At this point, the academic requirements are far down the list of concerns and allegiance to a school‘s colors are mostly supplanted by allegiance to the green, the silver, and the gold. This isn’t good for the traditionalists.

Here's the other thing where some may feel is good or some may feel its bad. According to the rules, the UAA and coaching staff have to be hands off of the whole NIL deal making. Given UF's historical approach, they are probably more or less following this rule. It has to be incredibly frustrating to BN to be essentially a bystander in these proceedings.

I believe college players shouldn't be getting money that's anywhere close to nfl minimum salary (actually never liked the nil crap at all). That said...

I find it amusing how many posts I saw here that blasted the Gator Collective and foley cronies for failing to open the coffers and take the plunge like atm, scum, etc, and instead putting us squarely in position to once again get left behind in the recruiting race. To loosely paraphrase, "do what's got to be done or we'll never catch up." Now suddenly we're overpaying? Make up your minds.

To me, the real issue here is why is it happening to us. Lot’s of other teams seem to get by without a constant parade of ‘bad optics’. Is it administration mismanagement? Is it others teams playing chess with disinformation while we play checkers? I have no idea, but it has to stop.

I'm sure it's a number of factors, but part of me wonders if we have the worst sports journalists in college football. It seems like they are working against the program half the time, constantly spreading lies and stirring up drama that reflects badly on the team. They scream negative press from the mountaintops. You think the Alabama sports writers do anything but protect the program at all costs? They'd get strung up in trees otherwise.

Hell, the primary Gator beat writer for the Sun just wrote a piece on all the great things about UGA winning another NC. Even Dooley wouldn't have written such trash for Gator fans to read.

If a lot of this Rashada stuff turns out to be pure lies, On3 should receive a mass loss of subscribers. It's outrageous, and people are actually paying money for it.

It is and always has been our grossly incompetent UAA led by fooley.
