Where did you read that? I don't see that stated in the article.

I've got nothing to say except this jamarcus character is pretty much a complete failure. No matter how much is given to him he finds a way to squander it.

I remember reading his whole article where he was trying to explain his 'bust' situation and it boiled down to 'everyone was mean to me'.

When I read the OP, my initial thought was “a thief is a thief” and that’s that. As I’ve been thinking about this guy, I can’t help but wonder how one goes from such an incredible talent with a huge contract that should have taken care of him for life to this petty ass crime. While we are all ultimately responsible for our own actions, I wonder how much proper rearing ol Jemarcus ever got. I feel comfortable saying I would not be in his situation, but then I had parents who taught me the right thing to do at all times.

Should Jamarcus be prosecuted to the full extent of the law? Yeah, he’s almost 40 years old, and by now should really know better. But what a great object lesson.

This should be small potatoes to him since he was paid more than $30 million by the Raiders but stealing $55,000 is Grand Theft for the vast majority of Americans.

Him too. Forgetting for a second how stupid of a crime it is to commit - after all, how do you not get caught? - it’s the kind of crime only the financially desperate people commit. It would be interesting to see where the $30M went.

If I recall correctly, The Cheesecake Factory got about half of it.

When he left the Raiders, he settled his contract. He had received $40 million, not $30 million. I believe he had $32 million guaranteed in the contract, and he ended up with more. I think it's all been gone for a long, long time.

I mean are we all that surprised? This is a dude that Lane Kiffin would send home with blank tapes to study game film, and he would come back to practice the next day trying to explain what the other team was doing......

Don't act like you've never lied on your homework.
