“Ladies and gentlemen, our National Anthem”…Did we already cover tv programming signing off at midnight or 2am, then coming back online at 6am?
Went looking for an image to put with this, but came across a wiki on it that stated they often included a prayer as well. I didn’t remember that.
Oh, and static - kids today stream everything and get a wtf face if they try a radio station that fades out periodically. Forget about snow on a tv channel.
Didja know a flushed M80 will still go off and maybe rupture the pipes in the wall behind the English teacher. Or so I have been told.Had an M60 go off right by my ear as I went to throw it. Stupid move on my part. It was old and I should have known the wick was super dry.
Was midnight when I was young. Had a video of High Flight (F-104) and then the National Anthem. I guess it is a prayer.Did we already cover tv programming signing off at midnight or 2am, then coming back online at 6am?

I worked for an O-6 (Vice Commander in his last active duty job) who was the only man to ever survive a supersonic ejection from the 104. I can't remember the exact number but it took several hundred stitches to sew up his face where the oxygen mask was ripped off. Good job too. No real evident scarring.F-104 pilots needed a lot more than prayers!
One for the door and one for the ignition. Now we just have to get the key close to the car.

SUVs dont have trunks. They have hatches. My old Ford was different. Square key for both door and ignition. Round key was only for the trunk.
Come to think of it, in the spirit of this thread, when was the last time you saw a trunk with a key?
Speaking of math from the previous page, I'm not sure if this is new math, KY math or just plain wrong math.
I found a bargain on some plants at Lowes and Seedy will not be happy with me. (But let me tell you how much I saved by buying them!) I got 6 plants 75% off. The cashier rang them up as 50% off and I corrected her about the discount. So after the 50% off she then discounted them another 75% off. It was after I left that I figured out what she did.
See, a bargain!
True story and the clerks don't care, not their money.Sadly that’s become the norm. My wife tells me stories all the time about cashier’s not being able to make change, or grasp what she’s saying when she tries to correct them.

Outstanding warrants?Where is this Lowes at exactly? I’m trying to do the math on whether or not it’s worth a drive up. And how close are you to the state line? Kentucky and I are not exactly simpatico, so I’d like to be in and out. Thanks.

I can transport plants across state lines for a fee. Maybe I should call it transplant.
Similar story, but going the other way. Mrs. Altitude and I went to Floor & Decor to buy tile for our kitchen and dining room/butler pantry counter backsplashes along with the accoutrements (grout, mastic, sealer, etc.). We specifically went Sunday to take advantage of special financing (zero interest if paid off before 18 months) and as part of the program, we were to get $100 off our order for applying for their card. Did that, approved, going to check out with sufficient stuff to meet the financing minimum. BUT, the cashier says they don't have a $100 function, so she calls a supervisor to help her. They discount the kitchen backsplash tiles, all 55 of them, by $1.81 to make up the $100 discount.
The catch - we purposefully purchased more tiles than we should need knowing they take them back within 90 days. I made it clear that I expect the full price refund on any tiles we return - not the discounted price as shown on the receipt. Blank stares all around! They didn't understand why I was specifically asking them to discount something other than the tiles (we bought $99.98 of pre-mixed grout). Guess we will see once I have to return 20 or so tiles.
This is the end of the big project. Living room/dining room converted to office and dining room with small butler's pantry. Kitchen was remodeled to raise upper cabinets, move a few things to add counter space, paint cabinets and new countertops.Sounds like you have a big project coming up! Are you doing the work or hiring out labor?
I'd purchased a Jacuzzi tub faucet for a great price on clearance for $50 for our bathroom remodel but then later decided I wanted something different. Since it was over 90 days Lowes had to put it on a merchandise card event though I had the receipt. She rang it up as if I didn't have the receipt and it was over $75. I had to stop her and tell her that was even more than I paid for it. They had to get a manager to over-ride the return to lower the price.![]()
