This is blowing up all over social media. The guy is just a complete freak.
They have talked about him being as high as the second player drafted. I think that is too high with teams needing quarterbacks, but he is the best pass catcher in the draft.
Doesn’t look like a 4.46 at all
I'm not sure I trust that number, but if it is true, he might be the first non-QB taken. Most mock drafts show Penei Sewell (the Oregon tackle) and Ja'Marr Chase (the LSU receiver) being the first non-QBs taken but a 4.4 with his size and hands (and catch radius) changes everything. Alex.
Is it sketchy? Maybe. It is a smart idea. There’s no doubt his agent is behind it.
Rumor has it the real number was 5.19.
I thought the same and self timed it. It's pretty close. I actually ended up under, but that is common in self timing due to starting delay (though that is somewhat set off by stopping delay and on this tape, estimating the line that is just off screen when he crosses). I did it three times and it was all nearly the same. I guess the video could be slightly edited.
Surely you're not doubting the accuracy of those Dominion timing machines?
My first thought was there is no way that was 4.46. But I think because he’s 6’6 his strides are just covering a lot of ground. Either way this is just something to talk about. Barring him running a 5.5 he was always gonna be a top 10 pick. This doesn’t help that.
Doesn't help? Really? Maybe cover with a LB.
Pitts is a whole different animal. Too big to be covered by a corner. Too fast for a LB or strong safety. Once in a decade or two type player.
Can't you read? 4.46 doesn't matter.
if it's 4.6, it still doesn't matter. plenty of good or even great NFL players run 4.6 in pajamas.
Guess they never heard of John Carlos
Wrong. Below 4.5 for a man his size matters. You were on the right trail when you said he couldn't be covered by a LB. I believe a poster said "... too fast for a LB..."
Sure, if they leave open that flap in the back.
None of us have.
??? He was a late pick (based solely on track speed), suffered a knee injury, and that was it. Jeff Demps may have had a better NFL career. Are you thinking of Bullet Bob Hayes or Willie Gault??? Alex.
John Carlos and Tommie Smith, the US Olympic sprinters with the fist protest on the medal stand in Mexico City. It’s Coach, you know there’s a race angle (as in racial, not foot race). Alex.
