I don’t think he has a strong arm. He’s got a decent arm, but not NFL caliber IMO. He’s made some great throws, but I also think his receivers bailed him out just as often.
I think he’s smart enough and with his work ethic, he’ll be a solid back-up for a decade or more.
I agree, but the article said that he had a strong arm.

Crazy how just a few weeks ago, Devonta Smith was a SUREFIRE top 3 pick but now he has dropped all the way to 16 in some mock drafts. Day by day he loses a little bit more money as his stock drops like a rock.

Devonta Smith wasn't a SUREFIRE top 3 pick a few weeks ago.

It was going to be Trevor Lawrence, then Zack Wilson, then whichever QB the Niners drafted third. Even before the Niners trade with the Phins, the expectation was that the Phins might take Penei Sewell or Ja'Marr Chase at 3.

Devonta Smith was NEVER a surefire top 3 pick.

Stop it.

He thinks he is somehow defending Douchebag Dan's vacationathon killing Trask's first or second round hopes.

we went 8-4 with probably the top 1 or 2 easiest schedule that we've had in 30+ years.

But we should be grateful. We are only a touchdown away from being as good as Bama, k? Right guys? 8-4 but only a touchdown away from being 13-0.

I'm definitely not one to defend Mullen but did you really just say Florida's all fuching SEC schedule was the easiest one they've had in the last 30 years? God damnit man.

There is no doubt that this coaching staff missed a golden opportunity to be in the playoffs. If we had better coaching on the defensive side with a real coach then we might have won it all. With a no nonsense coach like SOS or Urban we definitely win it all with the offense we had. So Mullen is definitely on the hot seat and must produce or in a few years he will be GONE just like MW will and possibly Sully if he can't turn things around and win consistently again.

Clearly, the easiest. Douchebag Dan has never even faced a an Clowntown or Tienrc coach with a triple didgit IQ.

His whole career here has been the easiest of any coach in history and yet he is completely incapable of capitalizing or even recruiting well enough to leave some future competent coach in good footing.

the only difference between Dan Mullen and Ron Zook is Mullen gets two easy wins over FSU and Tennessee a year. otherwise Mullen would be 7-5 also

They played 4 of the top 7 teams in the final fuchsing rankings. I'm not defending Mullen or any other dip shyts on his staff but saying that schedule is the easiest of the past 30 years is just retarded. Not quite as retarded as the whole "Trash" fiasco but pretty fuchsing close.

he’ll trade with ATL for him. And give up quite a bit. And then have only a 6th round pick this year and use it on Marco Wilson.

Wilson won't be available because the Dolphins will trade up in the second round for him.

To @Bait'n Gator ‘s point, it’s not about defending Mullen. But how many coaches have we had that got to 8 wins by virtue of at least 2 OOC cupcakes. I’d say 2004 and 2009 were both easier, as were some of the late 80s schedules. For that matter, Mullen’s first season was easier if for no other reason than he got those very same double digit IQ coaches, plus several warmups, Burrows without Brady, and didn’t start on the road.

Your Zook comparison may not be far off, and we’ll see likely this year. But that has nothing to do with an all conference schedule being tougher than an average season. There’s a reason it exposed the complete frauds in guys like Pruitt and WM. There was nowhere to hide.

The final Playoff ranking... the only one that really matters... we played three of the top 7 and lost to them all. Only 2 if you count Mullens excuse for not showing up for the bowl game.

I agree an all conference schedule is tougher than the OCC's we have been putting out there. But at the same time the SEC isn't the same Conference it was even a decade ago. The coaching in conference has been garbage. Outside of Saban what staff really has been dominant over the last decade. This year we only played 4 top 25 teams (including the bowl game) in an all-SEC Schedule...

So you don't think Kentucky, ole miss, ark, mizzou and Lsu could have finished in the top 25 if they would have played 2 or 3 cup cakes (like they have every year the past 30) instead of playing each other? The SEC didn't mysteriously get bad in 2020, they just all played each other and had more losses because of it. When the SEC dominates the NFL draft again this year are you guys still gonna say the conference took a step back?

No it's no mystery... it's be degrading for years due to the coaching in the conference. The talent is there, just look at the recruiting rankings. It's the coaching. Do you think it a shock there has been so much turnover the last half decade. And this is starting to sound like you are rushing to the defense of ole Mullens.... but No Kentucky, Ole Miss, Ark, mizzou, and even LSU wouldn't have made the top 25 with two more cupcake wins.

Are we really talking about Kintucky and Mizzu being "Top 25" because only 60 teams played last year?

Mother fuchsers maybe you should spend more time watching football and less time stalking Mullens travel agent.

Kentucky played one non conference game, it was against a ranked team and they won. Mizzou was matched up against the #15 team in the country in a bowl game but it got cancelled.

You think because all the bullshyt group of 5 teams didn't play that it somehow made college football weaker or the SEC schedules easier?
