Sad state of affairs when Florida Gators need to have a Stuart Smalley self-affirmation thread. I deserve good things. I am entitled to my share of happiness. I refuse to beat myself up. I am attractive person. I am fun to be with.

Yep. About sums this thread up.

This is NOT the same volunteer team from the last few years. Butch Davis has this team believing they can win, especially as they almost pulled the upset in Athens the other day. Worley can sling the ball around, they have good receivers, and they have a decent tailback. If our offense is a disaster like against Alabama and the defensive secondary continues to experience their woes, it WILL be ugly, very ugly.

"No" on all counts.

We almost beat Georgia last year too. So we've got that going for us.

I think we beat Tennessee by running the ball down their throats and passing just enough to keep'em guessing. Although, I'd love, love, love to see us have a 300 yard passing day. I remember when that used to be the norm. Ahhhh.......good times.

All in all, I say we beat them on both lines of scrimmage so we ultimately win the game.

If you did not like the thread man, you did not have to post in it :). It was intended to be a positive thread rather than all the negative ones going on for a change was all. Plenty of negative ones out there, this was a give your reasons why you think we will win. No need to call someones thread lame just because you don't agree with it man :moon:

WM has been preaching that this is a LOS league since he took over...we have the better talent and experience on our lines so we should be able to dominate in that area. Run the ball well, give JD time to throw, and also stuff their run and pressure Worley into mistakes.

Well, I'd prefer that Treon get the starting nod because I think we would be able to struggle at a couple of these below and still come away with a comfortable win. Just because he'd be able to stretch the defense. But with Driskel starting we will have to be damn near flawless in these:
  1. Limit turnovers on offense.
  2. Get defensive stops on 3rd down.
  3. Eliminate or minimize defensive mismatches like a speed back down the sideline on one of our safeties.
  4. Pressure the QB.
  5. Turnovers on defense.
  6. Red Zone efficiency for TDs at least 50% (I'm pretty sure that's well below the national average).
  7. Don't turn the ball over in the Red Zone.
  8. Consistently open running lanes
  9. Protect the QB.
  10. Use quick slants to offset the 8 man box instead of deep passes (specific to Driskel).
  11. Linebacker play must drastically improve. One of our linebackers will be out which means either Anzalone or Rolin gets some PT. Which is a good thing.

Coaching - Florida. This one may surprise but their guy is just as unproven and prone to emotional outbursts as ours. The 11-2 2012 season in the SEC gives Muschamp a slight edge. Oh, and he's 3-0 against UT.
O-line - Florida. By a mile.
QB - Tennessee. Worley isn't all that great but he's playing well for them. Driskel isn't.
WR/TE - Tennessee. I'm not all that wowed by UTs WR's, but North is good. D Robinson is just as good but UT gets the nod here because their QB can actually get the ball to his receivers.
RB - Florida. Matt Jones is the best RB on either team, followed by Kelvin Taylor. They rely on a true Freshman Jalen Hurd, who looks promising, but is just too slow and too green for this game.
D-line - Florida. By a mile, with Fowler being the best player on either d-line.
LBs - Even. They have AJ Johnson, who is very good in close quarters, but can't run at all. No other LB on their team moves the meter. Neiron Ball is the most athletic LB on either team, and will disrupt UTs offense with his pass rushing. Call this one even.
Secondary - Even. Hargreaves is the best DB on the field, period. But with UFs safeties getting burnt regularly, the Hargreaves advantage is neutralized. Frankly, I have no idea about their secondary other than they all look average and they give up chunks of yardage and lots of points.
Special Teams - Florida. UF has the better punter and Andre Debose.

5 advantages for UF , 2 for UT and 2 even. Florida wins.

I think we can win if we can run the ball and keep their offense off the field. Take care of the football. I think we can get alot of pressure on Worley is another advantage, maybe we can force a few turnovers. This defense is giving up alot of yards but it is creating turnovers.

I'm not going to say that we have a back as good as UGA's Gurley, but . . . it's a historical fact that the team that runs for more yards in this series wins. And even UGA's 2nd and 3rd RBs, who are not as talented as KT and MJ, were running it up and down the field on the Vols. I don't think that their defensive front is that good against the run, and so if we are able to establish the run, and, as pointed out, keep their QB off the field, we should win.

I think we have to run but the only RB to run big on them was Gurley and it was because he made some insane cuts in that 4th quarter near the line of scrimmage to find those holes to fly through. Other RBs his size cant make those cuts. Just saying they are better against the run than people think but that is probably our best chance if we can establish that.

Yeah UT was stacking the box on UGA and it didn't matter. Hutson Mason is no better than Driskel, and UGA was still able to put up 28 offensive points and rush for almost 300 yards.

uga's 2nd and 3rd string RB were both 5* coming out of hs...they are very good.

Basically you secure it as long as the search warrant is going on. You don't "own" the crime scene for a week or even a day after the search warrant is done.

By the way, Marilyn Manson's real name is Bryan Warner, he's from Boynton Beach, and he's a total douchebag. A friend of mine wrote an article about him and used his real name. So Briiiian calls him, has a shrieking meltdown on the phone, and threatened to sue him. Very "Boca."
