Okay, I'll give you that, as I do remember that song. But TIYS was nothing compared to WILAY, IMO.

Definitely different genres. WILAY was punk(ish), TIYS was pop.

My metal days
Y&T - Summertime Girls (and google has taught me their first album was "Yesterday & Today", and that they are (sadly) still touring)
Autograph - Turn up the Radio
Accept - Balls to the wall
Grim Reaper - See you in Hell
Morothead - Ace of Spades

My other music
Thomas Dolby - Blinded Me with Science
Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now
When in Rome - The Promise
Nena - 99 Red Balloons (English and German versions)
Wall of Voodoo - Mexican Radio (got my kids hooked on that one now)
Modern English - I Melt with You
Buggles - Video Killed the Radio Star
Soft Cell - Tainted Love
Sterio MCs - Connected
Book of Love - I Touch Roses
Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy
Devo - Whip It
Eric B & Rakim - Paid in Full
Herbie Hancock - Rockit (I'm sure he had more, but I dare anyone to name one)
J Geils Band - Angel is a Centerfold
Shamen - You & Me & Everything (second hit, I know the first was Move Any Mountain)
The KLF - 3AM Eternal
EMF - You're Unbelievable
Lords of Acid - I Sit on Acid
Scritti Politti - Perfect Way
Whale - Hobo Humpin' Slobo Babe
MC 900Ft Jesus with DJ Zero - Too Bad
Filter - Hey Man, Nice Shot (recognize a second hit in Take A Picture)
Cracker - Low
US3 - Cantaloop
Madness - Our House
Gary Numen - Cars
Natalie Merchant - Jealousy
Primal Scream - Higher Than the Sun
Golden Earing - Radar Love (acknowledging Twighlight Zone, but this was their real hit)
Robbie Robertson - Broken Arrow
Men At Work - Down Under
Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me)
Living Colour - Cult of Personality

My Electronic beginnings
Cirrus - Break In
Josh Wink - Higher State of Conciousness
Uberzone - Moondusted
Jackyl & Hyde - Beyond
Texas Audio - Earthbase 1
Yoshida Brothers - Kodo (Inside the Sun Remix)

==================

Most of that is from memory, though I have about 2TB of music on my home PC which I've managed to stream to my phone. But having such access, I can find a lot more "One Hit Wonders" than just memory could provide. If pushed to name my top few from that list:

Robbie Robertson - Broken Arrow
Uberzone - Moondusted
Modern English - I Melt With You
Golden Earing - Radar Love
Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full

Low by Cracker was definitely a good one. Candlebox- Far behind was as well. Not sure if that one had been brought up.

Is "hit" defined anywhere in the thread? Like how high on the chart and does it have to be US chart, or are we including "the whole world except the US"?

To many to name, but the first Candlebox album is still one of my favorites first track to last. There were a lot of great bands in that 93-97 range that had one great hit and dissapeared. Another one that isn’t as well known but Far Too Jones had a great first album.

Jump Little Children just falls into the category of lots of great music that not many people have heard.

Candlebox - Far Behind

One from the 90’s that I haven’t seen here is Bound for the Floor by Local H.

That's awesome. I remember in middle school when that first one came out I really thought they were going to be big. They had some great songs.

I actually saw a funny article recently where one of the better known bands has been playing nothing but songs from other bands at each show to see if anyone can notice. They do interviews with people in the crowd and they are like wow I forgot how many great songs they did.

wow - great list @TLB
The only band that might have had more than one hit would be J Geils-
“I Must Have Got Lost” #12, “Love Stinks” #38, “Freeze Frame” #4, and one of my favorites “Looking For a Love” #39 ...were also hits, although not on the scale of “Centerfold” #1.

He drinks some whiskey drink
He drinks some lager drink
He drinks some vodka drink
He drinks some cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him of the bad times
Chorus always makes me think of Wuerffel, song came out right after all the hits to the 'echo of the whistle' against FSU.
