Another attempt to pad posts, this time with famous scientists in the broadest terms.

Since I believe in a creator who made the rules of the universe he is number one on my list. Various religions call the creator different names.

G-d is number one for me.

    Participate as you desire.

One that I did not know, but surely an important one. When the name of some attribute of science is named after you that is really something.

Another from the far past, I would not think him famous for science, but surely worthy of inclusion.

He was likely more inventor than scientist, but John Browning has always been very interesting to me. Had to have some great physics and engineering knowledge with the firearms he developed.

Good point, I don't know if you enjoy alternative history, but I found a series about Texas. I won't go into details but it is found here.

I learned something about the real history as well.

    Thanks for participating.

My pleasure. Being a hunter and firearms enthusiast, Browning has always been the gold standard for me. My granddaddy bought a 16 ga. Auto Five back in 1968 and I've been hooked ever since. I was a big bird hunter for a long time, still hunt some these days, and I always relied on the A-5. His Hi-Power 9mm is the best semi-automatic pistol as far as I'm concerned. A lot of the firearms being manufactured nowadays look more like something Flash Gordon would use, but the Brownings always had a classy and stylish look to me...even the humpback A-5!

My family lived in an urban area and I think my father had some bad experiences during WWII so guns are something I don't own. I did know some folks who offered to teach me, but I have trigger finger issues, bad hand eye coordination, and somewhat anger issues that mean a gun is not a good idea.

I did do some archery but was not very accurate so it was not too much fun either. I can type so internet is something I can do.

I really appreciate your input on football and life, you have a very different view that is informative and interesting. Thanks.

Never say that name again in that fashion... it’s John Moses Browning and you say it that way... slowly, enunciating each syllable, with the proper respect and reverence it deserves!!! ;)

        :embarrassed:

You are correct good sir! If it makes any difference, I have thirteen of his arms. I guess I feel like I know him on familiar terms. A faux pas nonetheless!

I remember a story about Fermi. He was at the test of the first nuclear weapon and wanted to find out its strength. He used some paper, got up and allowed the blast to move them to determine its strength. Seemed foolish to me considering the risk, but from that data he could determine the power of the bomb was amazing.
