This is so mark richt of Dan
Based on what I see, support for keeping TG is about the same as your chance of dying from covid19. I really enjoy 97.5% of your post but you seem to have a problem with anyone who has an opinion different from yours. Your first reaction is to throw out your favorite label, act like they are members of a conspiracy and mock them. Isn't there room for different opinions in your world or does everyone have to be a pumper or negator? I know, I know, this is what chat rooms are all about....... too bad that people who know a lot about football are mocked by others who have no track record of success Coaching Football, other that maybe playing Fantasy Football. Carry on!
This better be coach-speak (I doubt it is), or Dan will ultimately be fired for his determination to accept and reward mediocrity. Toad can’t coach and he can’t recruit. Allowing him to stay only makes the hole he’s digging much deeper. We’re at a point of no return if Dan keeps him. Our defensive talent is dwindling, and the margin for improvement that a new DC would have is shrinking... fast. Dan will ultimately get fired for this; deservedly so. F*ck Dan Mullen
Good god man, you really do have a problem with basic comprehension. I didn't say any pumps are defending him NOW. I said in a few months when the dust settles and its clear he ain't going anywhere, their narrative will shift from he's already fired/he should be fired to the standard, "well tell me who better was available?" "Mullen knows alot more about football than any of y'all", "turns out it was simply poor players", "the virus was the real cause of the defensive decline", etc. You know how I know this? History. It's the same story at the end of each season and beginning of each off-season every single year under zook, muschamp, mac and now dorky dan. And as demonstrated by your post above, you've already deployed the "trust the coaches, fans don't know jack" excuse so you're actually ahead of schedule. Y'all could at least try and update the playbook periodically though.
So Clark isn’t going to tell Cousin Eddy to choke the dog
I'll be mad at him for sticking with Grantham, but I'd assume the players had a bit to do with that move. After the initial anger and frustration with him the guys that have played with him for years probably had a lot of pity for him as the whole world piled on. I'm not saying he didn't deserve that, but what I am saying is that both as a player and a coach there are dynamics to teams that may explain how that happened. It's like Donkey here. Sure he is a miserable old *******. But he is OUR miserable old *******.
While that may be true, this isn't peewee league. You don't pay someone 6 mil a year to let the player's feelings dictate staffing decisions.
Mullen's parakeet's heads fell off.
They are somewhat correct in calling the players the problem. The players are not being coached properly to run Jabba the Hut's defense so, I guess you can say they are the problem. What an absolute bunch of BS by Mullen. If changes are not made on the defensive staff there will be two open seats in Evans Champions Club.
So this coverage is the players fault Dan?
Sounds like the only chance is for recruiting on the D side to go lights out. How’s that working so far? If we couldn’t play coverage or run support any better than we did this year with several system players, not to mention our inability to lineup properly against tempo, then something is amiss in the staff somewhere. One thing’s for certain...there’s a disconnect between the expectations of a portion of the fan base and Mullen / Stricklin with obvious little concern or oversight from the greater administration. Thus, it would be easy to assume Gator football has reached its ceiling for the foreseeable future. Our rivals should be happy. I’m not. Runner up is not what you play for and revel in. That sounds like Cover 3 (zone) LB responsibility, unless you are playing combo.
It is, if he can't recognize that pic is just one of many that should be considered adequate proof to fire tg.
I've heard all kinds of excuses, "Oh the LB are in the gap showing blitz but they may have dropped out of it at the snap to cover the curl/stop routes". Really? There aint a LB on our roster capable of covering the 8 yd stop route and thats if they don't run a quick slant and then run right through a should tackle and then hurdle Elams ankle dive to a TD. No logical person would look at that set and think, "yeah, that's gonna be a tough throw for the QB to make". Billy Young would hit that route 7/10 times.
My initial response to the DM hiring was disappointment and frustration that UF couldn't have done better - or worse, simply didn't try. After some incremental improvement in a dismal situation, I decided to give the DM regime a chance to show what they could do. Here, in my humble estimation, is where we currently stand after three seasons: A. The defense, under the "guidance" of Tod the Clod, is a putrid mess with no satisfactory resolution in sight. B. Recruiting is marginally improved, largely due to the transfer portal - but still not even close to championship level. C. DM is apparently unable or unwilling to take appropriate action to rectify - or even recognize either situation. DM is therefore directly responsible for the continuing deterioration of the program and needs to be replaced if he goes on as he currently is. Unfortunately, I see little or no chance of a change. D. Ox, and others are correct. DM is on course to near certain failure, but nothing is likely to happen any time soon. I'm thinking at least two and probably three or four years before the roof finally caves in. E. Wasting this year's superb O because we couldn't field a half-ass decent D is a shame and a disgrace that no Gator fan will soon forgive or forget. .
I want trask to have a great game agianst OU and OU to put 100 on us. Meaningless game. But could hopefully force Mullen's hand? Idk. Getting close to apathy mode agian
Mark Richt fired Third and Grantham after year 3.
Have you ever thought its in better interest to hype up a person you want to leave so he seems more enticing to the next job. So they will pay for his buyouts and leave your organization with more money to hire someone better and not take a step down
Ok , I've cooled off. It's gotta be coach speak. There's not a whole lot he can say in that situation. I don't like throwing the players under the bus at all. But at the very minimum Grantham is coaching one more game like it or not so not too much to say here.
This offense should have won a championship
You're still holding out hope he's firing Todd?
